  1. Hope you've had a birthday as colorful as your trademark shirts, Tyll!
  2. Use a polarizing filter or press the front of the lens or lens hood up against the glass.
  3. I am pretty sure that statment pertained to Westone. I am almost certain that it is not the case with JH, though I have not asked them about that issue personally. Case looks great! Any specs on the overall size? Because if it's not fairly pocketable, it isn't that much more useful than the big case.
  4. It's synergy I tells ya!
  5. Glad you like the Sigma 50-150, since I tempted you with it! Last time I was at the aquarium I had only the 18-200vr Maybe next time when I head back with the D700 and 2.8 glass I'll do better than before.
  6. Both of the first two. Was using the Pico as a source, and I only switched it to XLR for the picture. Great sound, there is no doubt that this is the OII amp (well T2 talk aside, anyway). If I hadn't heard the original Omegas, I'd say it is my best stat experience period (never have been a huge HE90/HE60 fan). Even with the best bass impact I've heard from a stat, the OII/BHSE combo still doesn't quite sell me for non-acoustic music. The airiness is a bit too much for me with amplified stuff, though I could see the appeal with some electronica. It does sound extremely lifelike with the best, well-recorded acoustic stuff though. So for those who would kid, it does some things better than the JH13, and some worse.
  7. I know the BHSE is like so six months ago now, but thanks to asr I have had a little fun with it today at home, before forwarding it on to him in Colorado:
  8. Just be glad it was Florida, and not Arizona
  9. It always feels longer on the way back. Although in your case, I'm sure a full belly didn't help!
  10. I didn't end up at his table before they were packing things up somehow. Here are the pics I did get This doesn't smell like a Singlepower... ..because it's 10.2lbs of Woo Audio goodness! How do I work this darn thing again?!? Finally it was ready to rock... ...along with the rest of Al's rig Justin unpacked a serious stash of cans: And I set up my ode to JH Audio: Donald North and his amps made the trek Let the listening begin! Just don't zap yourself in the process! blessingx has a spirited conversation: As things kept churning in the "cool" room... ...strungout1 and others sweated it out in the "hot" room Others were content to chill out with some cards (Yet another) great looking amp from Doc Cooter: The JH13 claims another victim Time to mix up some raffle tix! And we have a winner of a PPAS! Who came all the way from Nevada! Meanwhile the listening pressed on at JP#'s table... ...and across the room at mikeymad's mad stash The cable mess grew and grew More vintage Stax came out to play... ...as did these unusual German headphones They don't build 'em like this anymore The first production Audeze headphones were a popular listening target But not as popular as the treats whipped up by Mrs. Bigguy! I think all the sugar went straight to his brain Meanwhile, grahame is stupified Fureshi takes his shot at the JH13 demo with a friend looking on Amps and amps and amps, oh my! The most wicked tape setup we've had the luck to hear yet! Cooter's table, always busy! As time wore on, the conversation heated up... ...and the liquid flowed!
  11. Packing up now. Will be there bright and early!
  12. Cool, well, I'll definitely take it!
  13. I am getting closer to sticking it on my laptop. You running it off an HDD or SSD? I don't have much speed complaint about Vista, but then again, both my systems have 4GB+ RAM and an SLC SSD.
  14. Anything exciting in the works for Friday night (worth coming up early and finding a place to crash for)?
  15. Extremely! Yikes! Hopefully it won't be too bad in the end. It could have been worse though. At least you didn't get Theismannized.
  16. Well, I replaced my "home" rig with a rig that most would considering "portable," somewhat unintentionally, only because it gave me the best sound for the buck. Now what does that end up meaning?
  17. But it is on the way, for those of us coming from the valley
  18. Had a new clutch master cylinder put in my car, after discovering hydraulic fluid leaking on my left foot today!
  19. Most definitely!
  20. You are definitely welcome at the meet. They are definitely not invite only. And the ones that are, well, you'd only know about it if you had an invite
  21. He will be missed. But he will likely have to end up buying one anyway!
  22. Yeah, even with my current JH13 which has a minor fit issue, it is still more comfortable than any universal I've owned. It's so nice to use an IEM which doesn't leave my ear canals sore after any more than about 45 minutes.
  23. Ruh-roh!
