wow, so the sansa clip+ is actually a good player now
Iron_Dreamer replied to Chekhonte's topic in Portable Audio
I have been pondering getting the Clip+. I have a regular clip, which I use mostly with a KSC75 for walking/hiking. I also use it from time to time with my JH13 as an ultraportable rig. It would be real nice to have 20-24GB on the player rather than the 4GB I have now. Using FLAC, it can be tough at present to always have something I want to listen to on it. It's good to hear the SQ hasn't degraded. I recall reading a review somewhere that the clip+ was warmer sounding than the original. -
You better be there. I need to sneak up on you this year!

Does this help? I certainly feel your pain. Just be glad you were waiting a matter of days, not months like those of us early adopters. They are worth just about any reasonable waiting period I can imagine, FWIW.
-
In theory, they could still end up in the Rose Bowl if Oregon makes the championship game. But I'm not deluded enough to think it's actually going to happen. My hope is an undefeated Iowa vs. TCU showdown for the title!

Thanks a bunch everyone! Hilarious first post, Al!

QNAP NAS or Upgrade Custom Server?
Iron_Dreamer replied to Edwood's topic in GoRedwings19's Computer Help Hotline
I've been using Karen's Replicator for backup for a while now, and I've been really happy with it. I recently got Aaron going on it as well. BTW why bother encrypting your music/video array? -
Yeah, I don't doubt that improvements could be made, I just question if they would have any practical impact on how much I enjoy them. At this point, I basically spend no time thinking about sound quality or audio gear. I just connect with the music. I'm satisfied. And it's pretty fucking remarkable to say that, after the long journey it's been since stumbling onto HF years ago looking for headphones that wouldn't induce ear itching like the $20 Aiwa cans I owned at the time.
-
My wonder is how much better would an "upgrade" from the JH13 really be? I have my doubts about how much improvement there is left to dig up. I'm sure there is some, but how significant would it be, in actual usage? At any rate, no matter what comes out later, there is indeed nothing that will make the JH13 suddenly suck. Would you rather sit on the sidelines with the faint hope that someday something better might come along, or get in the game, and listen to the best damn IEM's around, now? Life is too short to ride the pine, IMO. I highly doubt there will be a universal version. Not to say that they might not make a similar device, in a universal form factor, but I'd be almost certain, due to technical issues, that it wouldn't sound the same/as good. Those were the ones, for sure.

Oh my stars and garters, a flac player!

Bah humbug! -
Yep, after the punt return, it was pretty much over. Cal does seem to have issues handling their own hype. Seems like they always end up doing better when they start the season off the radar. Coaching issues, perhaps? Oregon is looking more beastly by the week. 42-0 over WSU at the half Not as exciting overall as the last few weeks of the season have been. Oh well.... off to waiting for the Japanese Grand Prix to begin.

That's the first I've heard of it.

Wow, that is amazingly slow! How's the noise level on that box? Thank god for a closet, eh? -

Super! We await your full assessment. -
Yeah, they just shut it down after that 3rd TD. Barkley came out to rest, and the Corpse went in at QB in the 4th. Didn't take him long to throw an INT leading to a chorus of boos, then WSU's lone score against the 2/3rd team defense that was playing at that late juncture.
-
I was listening to it on the radio in the car, and it sounded bad enough. I can't imagine how ugly it must have been to watch. What a weekend of upsets though! And underdog Houston just keeps beating big programs. Who the heck knows what'll happen next week? And Tebow had his bell rung pretty hard, I wonder if that's the beginning of the end for him. The track record of QB's and concussions isn't exactly pretty.
-
Well, it looks like the 3rd time was the charm for me, at least they managed to get the color right. Comfort remains to be seen, but as long as they didn't change anything from my previous one, it should be fine.
-
Yikes Ed, that does look like poo (not that most anyone will ever see them that up-close, but nevertheless). No luster at all has come off the sound for me. The lacking luster is in how long is has taken for them to deliver what I ordered. Regardless of how nice Jerry and Brittany are, at some point pleasantness can't replace delivering the goods when it comes to customer service. At this point, it looks like if you get good impressions, and just order a basic color with no art, you are looking at getting one of the best sounding devices out there, in just about two weeks.

Well my 3rd set should arrive tomorrow. If I expect it to be messed up, at least I won't be disappointed

Good evening, Tenaya Lake! -
Yeah, I'm still waiting for them to "get it perfect" as well. My second pair turned out Pretty Princess Pink

It's the same BS loss to a sub-par PAC10 team that USC has had just about every year under Carrol. If anything it shows that Pete certainly had the right idea in picking Barkley over Corp as the starter. After that game, I'm calling him Aaron Corpse from now on.

DD-WRT is great. I've been running it on a Buffalo WHR-HP-54G for a few years now.

Looks like y'all had a great time. Wish I coulda been there, but I spent a bit too much time halfway across the Pacific, and I've been making up for lost time. Welcome to the bowels of H-C, duggeh!
