  1. The active crossover was the big deal, revolutionary to have in an earphone, to me. Now that it's not there, well it might still sound good, but I doubt it will perform AS well. Pretty much a big fail, but I guess Jerry screwed himself a bit by trying to patent it at UE even though he never had the financial backing to build it while he was there. FWIW JP, I've greatly enjoyed the Hifiman HM801+ Pico Slim with my JH13s. It is definitely a step up from the Pico Slim+Pico DAC or Pico DAC/Amp.
  2. Here's the first few I've gotten together from this current trip. Many more to come. It's just hard to find time to process and upload these bad boys, I've been so busy out there.
  3. Wow, you are a real Santa!
  4. Thanks for the info, and glad to hear you might have some time to play. Do you mean tomorrow, and or next Sunday? I have been in the San Juan the last few days, there is a ton of new snow. It's been manageable though. I should have a few choice shots online soon, but I'm off to the Black Canyon this morning.
  5. Thursday would be great, we should be able to hit RMNP and Golden Gate Park via the peak to peak highway, not too bad of a drive from Denver.
  6. Hoperation IPA at Ska Brewing in Durango
  7. Just drove through a small blizzard in Mesa Verde National Park, after getting a few nice pics in a pouring rain.
  8. That's what I'm up to, I'd love to have your company. I have an extra tripod you could use as well, assuming that you don't want to travel with one.
  9. A well-earned Pliny the Elder.
  10. Woke up to a nice coating of frost on my tent at 10,000ft. Proceeded under skies which started mostly clear, to hike Mount Elbert, highest peak of the Rockies. Clouds built all morning, and just after I returned to the car, around 2pm, a massive thunderstorm enveloped the area. The weather might not have held out long, but it was just long enough.
  11. Bought a uni-meal amidst today's driving at the best Five Guys anywhere, in St. George, Utah. I've never seen another location that is so consistently excellent (or with red rock views, for that matter).
  12. Heading out the door, over 1100 miles of tarmac to chew up today.
  13. Having plenty of family in Texas...that sounds perfectly valid to me!
  14. What is it with you Alaskans and your obsession with size?
  15. Report back on your progress, Tyler! Wish I were there, guess it will have to be next year.
  16. Congrats on the new digs, Jacob! I'm packing up to head out for Colorado tomorrow morning. With any weather luck, I should be reporting back from 14,000 feet by Tuesday.
  17. Happy birthday Santa and Steve!
  18. What luck (or is that build quality)!!?
  19. Indeed, the especially considering where that shot was taken! I'll have to settle for JH13's with a tasty side of Rittenhouse tonight.
  20. Make it a great one, but Jim!
  21. Picked up some new hiking pants from TRI to replace a couple of pairs with broken zippers. Nothing like some unwanted ventilation next to your gentleman's sausage at 14000 feet.
  22. Party on! Looks good to me. You guys better hit the Mons Venus later!
  23. Thanks Al. Unlike some, I am not a compulsive coconut consumer
  24. Sounds damn good to me. How much longer 'til I get to Denver...?
  25. Thanks for the offer! Bummer, well, just let me know if anything does open up, even if it's just a weekend day for us to run out to RMNP or the like. I'll see what Al has to say.
