Looks like the Thai floods are going to delay the NEX7 for all of you who are interested, and there is no ETA: http://photorumors.com/2011/10/20/sony-nex-7-nex-5n-nex-c3-and-a65-now-officially-delayed/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+PhotoRumors+%28PhotoRumors.com%29 I think the NEX7 looks awesome, but like others, really hate the lens choices. The Zeiss 35 f/1.8 looks nice, but it is twice the price of the Samyang 35 1.4 I use on my D700, a lens that has both a wider aperture and larger image circle! Sony, if I'm going to really be interested in the NEX7, I want better and/or smaller lenses. Something wider than 16, for sure! And a 16-80 stabilized zoom that's not too huge would be lovely as well! -

The SR009 and LCD3 are two extremely excellent listening experiences. For me, the SR009 is a concert hall, the LCD3 is a club. The tradeoff is openness and air versus a more physical, speaker-like bass. The LCD3 is a more "fun" headphone, but strikes a better balance between bass/fun and detail than its' predecessor. The effortlessly smooth detail and incredibly open sound of the SR009 is quite striking. Given well recorded material, it amazes. They are two different, but every enjoyable headphones, and I could absolutely see a use for both.

Happy birthday to you, Carl, didn't realized we shared one!

Thanks everyone! I am hanging with Sherwood today before I head off on more mountain adventures. There will definite be pork-based treats, at least the slow-smoked kind

Do you want the room to look more like a lounge or a studio/music production facility?

I just spent 45 minutes listening to the LCD3 with my own music and gear. Over a wide variety of music, the headphone did not disappoint. It is without a doubt, one of the most well-balanced, yet detailed headphones I've ever used. Sorry that I can't provide a good O2 comparison, Frank, but I really don't have enough personal experience with them to make a definitive comparison. I will say that even being amped by a modest Pico Slim, the LCD3 gave me just about everything I'd want, sound-wise, with just about nothing that I wouldn't. It really hits me much like the JH13 in that regard, in that it is very balanced yet detailed, and proves itself well across just about any sort of music (and even movie sound). To say the least, I found the LCD3 extremely impressive. It is definitely a major new player at the top of the headphone food chain, and I'd take it over most of the other options out there for full-size cans.

Hehe, well, I'm in the mountains waiting for you, and just had a nice sunrise.

Just had a very nice tripel at the Wild Mountain Smokehouse in Nederland, Colorado.

Safe travels to everyone who is heading for Denver tomorrow! I'll watch you come in from my perch high in the Rockies.

Yep, it indeed is Echo Lake! There were quite a few nice aspen left on the road between Idaho Springs and there. For some reason my Nook won't load the larger versions of your shots, but the one on the right looks intriguing. Edit: Just saw it on my X220t, yeah, I like that shot quite a bit, a good background for the aspen leaves! -

Fang isn't coming (so I doubt she is), so you better find another reason to make the trip worth it
