I just checked a 10kohm 2CP-2511 that I have in the cupboard, and it does the exact same thing

The TKD are indeed funky. I asked the question here: Datasheet and explanation of their attenuation curve.

Sweaty fake tan, surely......?
-
Doesn't the iPod draw up to 1A of current while charging? The 2A might not be so ridiculous after all......
-
Quick clarification..... in this instance, would you recommend a ground loop breaker between the chassis safety ground and star ground?

Blasphemy! Burn him!

FWIW, I now use an AC-powered 320Gb USB drive, and it is 100% reliable. Admittedly, it is a bit of a chore to disconnect, copy music on, then wait for a re-scan...... but for me, the USB drive is still better than running the server on a separate PC all the time.
-
I should add...... you should be able to hear and feel the drive spin up when plugging it into the USB port, so that one should be quick and easy to check.
-
If it is USB powered, perhaps it is not able to spin up due to power draw issues? I have a Seagate portable unit that would sometimes flake out with my Squeezebox Touch, but works perfectly from my docking station's USB port. Oh, and I'm not sure what disk format the Squeezebox requires, but I would strongly recommend reformatting to something other than FAT32. I do know that NTFS is A-O-K.

Windows installation problems - Help?
Beefy replied to MexicanDragon's topic in GoRedwings19's Computer Help Hotline
You can try this: http://forum.noteboo...tml#post7822528. Never used it myself as I have always had legit media, so no promises. As for inserting your own Acer OEM product key after installation, you can try this: http://forums.mydigi...9816#post149816. Just make sure you insert the right certificate. And just for general info, a great idea for clean-installing on machines with OEM Windows - but not using bloatware-loaded disks from the manufacturer - is to use Windows ABR: http://directedge.us...kup-and-restore. Worked perfectly to keep the OEM product key when I clean-installed Win7 x64 on my new Thinkpad. -
While I've never had any direct problems with Alex, there definitely has always been an uneasy controversy surrounding him. The SOHA boards issue, Exstata design issues, absolutely rabid fanboidom from pabbi and NoNoNoNoNoNo, etc. Psych classes aside, it is hard not to infer things from all of this...... I patiently await evidence one way or the other. But then again, its just headphones, and its just a hobby. *Goes looking for my bottle of chill pills*

Australia is only 10% GST. But we do pay a very high ADT (asshole distributor tax).
-
......I still like my Exstata......

Google is having a 10 billion Android Market download celebration event. Plenty of apps at 10c a pop - including really awesome ones like Swiftkey X and Soundhound Infinite. And apparently, each day for 10 days there will be 10 new apps! [EDIT] Include the link, dickhead...... https://market.android.com/details?id=apps_timed_promotion&feature=banner

Just try and avoid the 'upgrade' bug that you seem to get with audio equipment......

I've been skydiving. Frankly, it helped that the airplane was not perfectly good, and that I felt safer jumping.

Metrum Acoustics Octave: A NOS digital filter-less DAC
Beefy replied to K3cT's topic in Home Source Components
I think industrial grade actually refers to the fact that these are housed in a Hammond case... -
This is great for just walking around a city. But unfortunately, you can't get turn-by-turn directions without an internet connection.
-
But even among those with Gingerbread, not having a manufacturer-installed UI is priceless. Sure, you can go down the path of third-party ROMs, but for the vast majority (including me) it is more trouble than it is worth. It seems *just* manageable to me. Roughly the same width and thickness as the S which is the key factor for in-the-hand feeling, just a bit taller. Have you seen the Galaxy Note yet? 5.3" screen!
-
That is exactly what people said about the Nexus S, and it was clearly the best Android phone among its contemporaries.
-
A few days on, I hope it is acceptable to bring this back up...... The iBuds must have improved vastly over the years. The Yuin PK3 I bought for my lady friend about 3-4 years ago were light years ahead of the iBuds. And the Koss KSC75 were even better again.
-
Not even the slightest interest. Even if it does perform and sound awesome, it entirely misses the point of why most people DIY - to do something completely balls-to-the-wall insane.

I'm really disappointed that they didn't include NFC. Google Wallet is one of the things I am most looking forward to from Android updates - so an equivalent on the iPhone to help quicken the uptake by card providers would have been great.
