Shit, that does all sound very lucky.....

Bugger me..... hope it turns out OK for you!

Yellowcake is your smoking gun? Minimally processed uranium ore that is MANY years away from even a single bomb, even if they had the rest of the associated equipment and the missiles with which to deliver it? I'm shaking in my boots Iran is years more advanced than this, but nobody has invaded them yet. Iraqi WMD were, and are still, a total fiction.

No. Buffalo can take SPDIF input directly.

Does anybody know how to build an electromagnet?

Magnetic art, AND a room heater. That's just smart shopping! -
Sorry, but that is a steaming load. There were never WMD's. Saddam was enough of a crackpot that he would have used them, if only to 'salt the earth'.
-
I don't think that most people come even close to understanding Iraq. Saddam was a bad guy, that much is for sure. But he was incredibly far-removed from the Taliban ideals, and there is very good evidence that Al Qaeda tried to assassinate him on numerous occasions. Saddam's Baath party was made of moderate Sunni Muslims who were violently secular - the exact opposite of the Muslim fanatics being fought in Afghanistan who were responsible for 9/11. Under Saddam's rule, the radical Shiites were kept on a very short leash and as soon as this secular and moderate 'government' started to crumble, the freedoms that Americans would hold so dear started to crumble as well. Al Qaeda moved in and Sharia law came to prominence - a perfect example of this is the destruction of liquor stores run by Catholic Iraqis. The closest Saddam/Iraq previously came to terrorism was sponsoring the families of Palestinian suicide bombers. Not the smartest thing in the world, surely. But I don't see much difference to the US support of the Israeli military - as far as I'm concerned both sides of that particular conflict are completely fucked up, but that is a whole other can of worms I'd rather not fight about...... * Regarding the whole issue of socialism versus capitalism, the pendulum swings both ways. It is totally laughable to think that Obama tweaking the progressive tax scale to increase taxes for incomes of greater than $250k is going to bring about an economic or social apocalypse. Just like it is ridiculous to think that another 8 years of the Republic party would see a capitalist paradise complete with child labour. The way I see it, on the global scale the pendulum has swung to capitalism far further in the US than anywhere else. Swinging back towards the centre for a few years can't possibly be a horrible thing.

Ooooh, that ain't good. My thoughts are with your buddy

What did you forget? I think I managed to snag everything first time without errors..... but I seem to have many more spare resistors than I should have. I'm *really* hoping that one of the kits I sent out isn't short!

Woo Audio amps make me feel funny in the pants. Absolutely gorgeous amps! -
That's awesome Riceboy. Start 'em early! I spent yesterday blinging-up my Hammond-cased MMM, σ11 and Millett Max with some socketed screws, LED bezels and some really nice Lumex 660nm LEDs. Very happy with the results...... I don't think I'll ever use stock screws or blue LEDs again. Spent today cleaning house

A NSFW warning would have been nice

6-32 HSS/Cobalt hand tap 3x stepped drill bits covering 3mm to 20mm Bugger me casework gets expensive

It is quite funny (and very sad) seeing the US news reports that get flagged in the media down here in Australia. About how Barack Hussein Obama isn't a typical American name, how he lives within 4 miles of a big-wig in Nation of Islam so must really be a Muslim, OMFG COMMUNITY ORGYNISER MEANS HE'S A TERRYRIST PLOTTING TO TAKE DUN THE GUVMENT! Sure, vote against him because you don't like his policies. But there is no excuse for that kind blatant ignorance and bigotry.
-
I'm with you on this one. The y1 looks brilliant, and only the USB receiver is going to be difficult SMD.
-
Casework for two-in-one isn't going to be any more difficult than two separate cases IMO. At a minimum, you can fumble through it, it will look like crap, and it will still be functional. But your first go at surface mount soldering being a PCM2702? *whistles* That would be very ambitious......

Yep yep. They ran out of LCDPS when I ordered my Buffalo and as compensation I got a free LCBPS and a free Placid Genuinely good guys trying their best to do the right thing for their customers and the community.

Hehehe..... hahaha..... hmmmm..... awwwww

While Head-Case certainly has its.... erm.... 'quirks'.... I like the fact that you can call bullshit on key things, without the mods jumping all over you to protect ad revenue.

Has worked for me, and I'm not a contributor. Thanks duggeh!

Nice! But all you ESW9/10 owners are making me jealous. I was a day away from grabbing one from my local store, but they ran out of stock. New stock is hugely more expensive due to the free-falling Aussie dollar - I just can't justify it for a portable

From what I have seen of engineers/inventors/builders in this hobby, almost every one of them probably needs a business manager of some sorts. Somebody to deal with all the little problems, to answer emails, to make sure things are completed in a timely fashion, to make sure there is always something solid to sell while new designs are on the boil, etc etc etc. Sure, there are arguments that the market isn't big enough and the profit margins too small to take businesses with staff...... but surely a great engineer in a well organised company could take a much bigger slice of the pie?

Makes incredible curries too.

I'm in for two. I actually organised an Aussie group buy, and am supplying parts for six Max builds - 5 of them with Black Gates
