Picked up a Nespresso Essenza plus Aeroccino combo. Pretty damn happy with the results for so little effort

Yeah, Anandtech's review said very similar things with respect to email and casual tasks being so enjoyable, which is why I'm still so keen to try it - and I'm sure I would absolutely love it. I guess I just don't think I could ever justify the expense for that convenience. The money could buy at least two levels of CPU upgrade and a fair chunk of RAM in a new laptop, which translates to a lot time saving for Matlab and other intensive work tasks. Priorities suck

I feel the same way - trying to see where/why it would replace my laptop for any reason other than convenience and novelty. But I do have to plead ignorance until I have properly tried one, which I would very much like to do......

It is quite the physical feat for a man to be able to go down on himself...... but for a woman? Wow.

Ended up having a great time SO much food and drink...... I loved catfish wherever I went, but disliked crawfish - why you wouldn't have lobster or shrimp instead is beyond me. And the stench of crawfish coming from every bin - UGH! Loved po boys in every form, particularly roast beef. But I gotta say I was disappointed with the muffuletta. It is basically what we used to call a continental roll back in Australia, but without the goodies that made them really special like sundried tomatoes and roasted red peppers. Abita beer is awesome in every variety, and so damn cheap! Loved the Restoration Pale Ale in particular. Not a fan of hurricanes though!

Last night I somehow managed to stumble off the madness of Bourbon St into Irvin Mayfield's Jazz Playhouse.......... very swanky

This always comes up, and there is always the same qualifier...... that Rane "best way" only works for proper balanced amps. For bridged amps - the sort built by the vast majority of DIY'ers and very popular amongst commercial headphone amps - need to have a signal ground connected. So I'm not at all surprised that cables Nate built without pin 1 connected have had problems with hum.

Ugh, terrible nights sleep before my flight today

Thanks guys. We had heard Frenchmen St is where its at for locals... cheaper, tidier, etc. than Bourbon St, and all the restaurant suggestions sound great I'm in town from tomorrow night through the morning of Monday 24. Conference business will be a priority till Wednesday, but if you've got an inside line on a good show on Thursday or later I might check it out!

Hey y'all! I'm going to be in New Orleans for 10 days firstly for a conference, then a few days off...... any specific suggestions for bars, restaurants and activities? I've got a Fodor's guide, but would love to hear your suggestions. Cheers!

I really don't think that there are any good options. The

Sweet! Got it on the Xboxen, but having it on the PC as well can't hurt

Thanks My biggest enemy is getting a decent night's sleep beforehand. In a strange hotel, unfamiliar noises, anxiety/excitement...... I just can't relax my mind.

Found out that the room I am giving a presentation in next week seats 459 people, and will likely be a full house. Better not fuck it up!

Hi Frank! More madness over here is a good thing spritzer: how did you end up liking your P2P Exstata?

Shit dude, your hands are steadier than mine

Here's one I took last year with my D90. ISO 3200, default in-camera N/R, 50mm f/1.8 @ f/2, 1/80 hand-held, cropped smaller and 50% scaled. I really like the balance the camera makes between detail and noise in the brighter areas where the performers are.

Rocky mountain oysters.

Make love, not war! Just for the love of god, PLEASE don't post any fucking pictures of it. I think the name is stupid, and personally prefer the look of the old 307A...... but the proof is in the listening; I'd bet a testicle it sounds fantastic. We all know that is the most important thing.

Sorry, as per my edited edit: The description says it has got a DACT, so I don't think the internal photo is of the flagship Pinnacle. It might be of the Apex Peak instead, listed here, which does claim to have an RK27. Todd has just got the pics messed up.
-
...... is that an RK27 in a $10,000 amp? [EDIT] The description says it has got a DACT, so I don't think the internal photo is of the flagship Pinnacle. It might be of the Apex Peak instead, listed here.

Announcing our new product line! - Page 2 - Head-Fi.org Community Those are the coolest tubes I have ever seen. I kind of preferred the industrial look of the old 307A though

Degassing with even a modest vacuum pump is very effective way to get bubbles out of viscous solutions. Or centrifugation, of course!
-
Great pics Pretty sure the long amp with tubes is the L'espressivo. Looking forward to details of that project soon......

Heh, pure comedy gold
