While we're on bugs, I grabbed this little guy in the Denver Botanic Gardens. Never managed to snap a bee so heavily loaded with pollen......

Well FWIW, this review was posted today, and will probably serve as the best example of media aimed at the hardcore gamer. Picking one or two of the games from this review would be a safe bet... http://www.hardocp.com/article/2011/07/01/audiotechnica_athad900_headphones_review But I'd still put my money on Bioshock
-
The most atmospheric game with respect to audio in my recent memory would have to be Bioshock. And a bloody good game at that.

Colour me intrigued! I'm looking for a small portable for work - something to replace my ESW9. I find them a bit slow and boring compared to my home rig, and phones with a bit more pep would be great. So if anybody here has ever listened to both, I would love to hear their impressions. Saves me having to wade through a river of shit at Head-Fi......
-
Sweet! Looking forward to a functional outcome.

Reminds me of Total Recall. Quaid..... Quaid..... Start the reactor. Free Mars.

There are some 'proper' navigation apps available for android that might fit the bill, such as this: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.navigon.navigator_checkout_us From the reviews however, it doesn't seem like they are ready for prime time just yet.

Payment sent! Sorry for the delay, but I've been busy with conferences, holidays, and poor internet access......

Well being my first smartphone, I'm both easily impressed and easily bamboozled by the software. But there is no denying that it is an incredibly powerful piece of hardware given the size......

Picked up a Nexus S. As intuitive as it is, I've got a steep learning curve ahead of me...

It doesn't help that teachers are increasingly forced to be teaching things that the parents should be teaching......

I don't see any actual 'concerns' in that document, only whether the second fuse actually provides benefit. Regulations suggest that double fusing should not be used in specific cases, but this is mainly for permanent-install industrial equipment.

Please, don't mistake my comments as strong criticism of anybody's opinions. This is a really tough issue, and I don't have a horse in the race. I can absolutely see that Osama would never be taken alive, and that the Seals were almost certainly left with no alternative. But I had sort of expected that more people would be disappointed that due process could not be followed. The reason I appreciate my 'Western' upbringing, and loathe military dictatorships and religious extremists, is because they are so willing to cast aside these basic human rights. I always hope that we can hold those basic rights above all else and that this is what makes us 'right'.

While I can appreciate your line of thinking, I can't really agree with it. What makes the USA better than the terrorists if you just kill everyone who does something 'wrong', without going through the proper process of the justice system? As I said earlier, I think you have to at least try to take the moral high ground. Yes, it would be expensive. Yes, it would be difficult. Yes, he may have been a target for revenge attacks. But it would be practicing what America preaches with respect to justice and democracy. Such actions would gain a great deal of respect from the global community.

Yeah, and I think it is better this way. Holding up grisly photos of a corpse might make some feel better...... but restraint and respect will win more hearts and minds in the long run. In a rather terrible coincidence, I was playing Counterstrike at the time.
-
Yeah, I tend to agree with you Craig. I would have preferred the US take the moral high ground, and treat him with the same respect that they do for other criminal, rather than for vengeance. Not a good feeling in the short-term, but far better for the long-term PR battle. But I'm sure they tried, and I can't imagine him going easily. In either case, I am glad this whole chapter in history is closed......

Sounds like an excellent option for me, as a board-only participant.

I've started using LastPass password manager. Every password I have has been switched to a randomly generated 8-16 character letter/number combo, and my master password is 20 characters semi-random but very easy to remember. Highly recommended. -
That's awful. I don't know what else to say, other than my thoughts are with you

Got confirmation that the health and dental plan I've been negotiating for postdocs at my uni has been approved, starting May 1. Too fuckin right!

For the sake of a couple of bucks, might as well go the whole hog IMHO.
-
I'll second this. I did 0805 resistors for Marc's PGA23** volume board, which was just manageable. 1206 as being discussed here is a touch bigger, which I would think would be ideal for most folks.

Please sign me up for 4 bare boards. I may or may not be interested in a parts group buy......

This little turd is trevornetwork? Holy shit, I feel dirty...... I gave him the FPE files from my Exstata build, because he seemed like a genuinely helpless newbie on Head-Fi
