  1. heh, but it feels so good ...it's just something i thought about the other day, works in my mind.
  2. you use your way and i will use mine
  3. is that you NoNoNoNoNoNo?
  4. whatever....believe what you want...
  5. Fact, this kind of stuff does not happen with the other companies I mentioned, period..... never said don was a bad guy but, to me, he is not helping, just like NoNoNoNoNoNo, who seems to have been asked to shut up...
  6. Seems like his friend may want to spend more money than that? Schitt seems fine to me but the endless play on the name is getting old.
  7. I was thinking of how I now see different amp builders these days and the biggest red flag for me is when there are several rabid fans who enter every thread and defend ceaselessly. Cavalli has NoNoNoNoNoNo and dbel, mikhail had several, RSA has a few. The companies without rabid/annoying fans are Headamp, EC, ECP, in my opinion, and these are the ones to choose from. EC does have build issues though. Besides the annoying fans of Cavalli, his prices are ridiculous....another Mikhail waiting to happen...
  8. I'll be hearing the DSHA-1/HD800 combo later this week since I bought the last sale amp from Doug, quite excited. It will be fun to see what the amp does with the R10s too. I like supporting the good guys.
  9. Tyll, I personally know Mike & Marv, nice guys, and have had a mini meet with them and their preference for warmer stuff pervades that site IMO... Not saying that is bad, but it is a preference to which I do not subscribe. So, no Cavalli, RSA stuff for me. One of them told me, can't remember who, that they listen to mostly 80's music, and pop, if I remember correctly, so that may explain why 90% of the things they listen to are "harsh".
  10. Gosh, I guess i am in the minority, or don't listen to strident music like others do, but I like the 800s just the way they are. Seems like a thick/syrupy sound preference is the religion they are preaching at changstar.
  11. Cool, anyone interested, send me a pm of what you want and I will break down a price for you.
  12. Sorry, but roasting is just not an option, since I already have to roast for the boys here.
  13. So I have been buying full bags of green beans (60 kg - 132 lbs) for roasting for about 6 years now. The price is great at that quantity. Recently, I have been trying to sell a bit of the bag at cost so I can have more variety with our beans. We go through a bag on our own in about 6 months. I was wondering if there is anybody roasting here who would be interested in buying some beans? If you don't roast, let me suggest that this is a fun hobby and saves money in the long run. There is nothing like fresh roasted coffee. If there is interest, maybe I will start a new thread?? Right now I have two partial bags: Colombian Supremo Huila Valencia @ $2.93/lb plus shipping and minor costs like paypal, supplies. and Ethiopian Yirgacheffe G2 SpecialPrep @ $3.68/lb " " Anyone interested? I could go as low as 2 lbs. but would prefer to do 5 lbs. More is ok too.
  14. not that I can remember
  15. My sinks at the hottest spots on the amp (near the front) get up to 50C.
  16. Yeah, I have two again now so feel better . Someone just asked me to build one for them so that may happen.
  17. yeah, what's up with that (:
  18. Ok, I will remember that.
  19. Just please don't do what you have been doing at HF, posting the same drivel over and over again about adjusting the volume on certain songs for the 009, blah, blah, blah, and comparing the 007 to 009, warm-up issues, blah, blah, blah. Say it once and move on.
  20. Yeah, I am probably going to jump on the 105 as well.
  21. They sounded just all right, can't believe that price.
  22. Same thing just happened on my HV. My specs were the lesser ones (65VA, 70ma on the hv windings). This is my fourth SumR transformer to blow on the HV winding (3 from the T2). Pissing me off now. Did you end up with a Hammond livewire? SumR has replaced all my other transformers basically for free (had to send a few back).
  23. I've said it before, I don't use this for 2-channel because plain headphones/amps sound better to me. It seems others are happy with it for 2-channel but I was not very impressed. This was using a room I recorded at Brooks Berdan in Los Angeles. For movies it is unbelievable.
  24. Wooohooooo Kiiiiiiiings!!! (from the land with no ice, ha!)
  25. 10 pro for me, thank you.
