  1. Huh, did you even read the previous page. No worries, you're out for sure, I'm not fronting money for dipshits.
  2. Same thing, you pay UPS who payed customs.
  3. And then there is about $200 for US Customs, and 3.5% if you use paypal. No way I would ask for them to state a lower price for customs (not sure they would even do this) and forgo insurance. I got killed by customs buying an R10.
  4. No, Todd does not have a deadline but he may take awhile. Elusive Disc is the seller.
  5. Update: I currently have an offer from a reputable US dealer (2 year warranty advertised). Price: $4500 plus shipping to you (unless you are in Los Angeles or can pick them up here) We would need to commit to buy 8 sets by 6 p.m. EST tomorrow, March 31. (I am guessing the deadline is because they need to place the order so the shipment can get here for the release date) So, this is where the rubber meets the road. I can handle the money transfer, if and only if, 8 people commit to the buy. Who's in?
  6. I went through the price quote process and it is $4300 to the US using DHL and paypal. I would rather buy from Todd for a bit more.
  7. That's a pretty low price before fees and shipping. Edit: It does say on the top of the website we export based on the lowest price in Japan, which they list in the ad, and that is 349,000 yen. I think that 309,000 price is wrong.
  8. No, you can make a digital RCA break out cable and use adapters.
  9. Yeah, not so sure I agree with that guy. I have met him I agree digital input would be cool. I use an Emotiva LMC-1 from my computer MB digital out to a (shudder) RSA XP-7 (first headphone thing i ever bought) to HD600.
  10. You can't effectively use another persons HRTF unfortunately, it has to be done individually in each venue. I use AIX studio primarily, but even have one that was done in the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood. It sounds pretty cool.
  11. It's not a toy, it's amazing. I've had mine for several years now, only use it for movies and such, not music, but I do want to map a great 2-channel room some day. I bought mine without the headpones. It is really meant for recording engineers, imagine being able to bring your mixing space with you anywhere. I think they demoed it for the Lucas people at that studio in Northern Ca, don't remember the name. The really expensive place where a lot of movies are mixed. The Smyths were involved or responsible for the development of the DTS standard.
  12. I kinda doubt we are going to do much better buying in Japan after all is said and done. I feel much more comfortable, considering the amount of money involved, buying from a known US seller.
  13. I am still waiting for NeedleDoctor to respond too, but it would be nice to give the business to Todd. I wonder if waiting we miss out on the first shipment, which may be a consideration? I am inclined to wait a bit since our only offer is $4725 from Elusive Disc. What do others think?
  14. I think it would be good to wait if he can give us close to 15% off retail. Did he give any indication Al?
  15. Yeah, I am thinking a group buy from them is a no go, didn't feel real comfortable after speaking with them and this is a lot of money.
  16. I called them today and they didn't even know about the phones yet.
  17. Great Al, the place i am trying to get 15% from is needle doctor.
  18. All right, doing group buy research today and best price so far from Elusive Disc is $4725 shipped to me (so you would need to add shipping to you to this price). That is 10% off retail with shipping to me thrown in. I guess Stax recently raised prices for these guys so their margins are very thin. I am trying to get 15% from another US dealer, we'll see. The $4725 is looking pretty good to me and we only need 7. What do those interested think?
  19. No, I mean that group buy.
  20. Deepak, i think that price was low by about $500.
  21. So we do a group buy from Japan??
