Hey, did you know there was a sequel to that? Also, the original site.

Dude, you live in Hawaii, the place that other people go to, for vacations. Me -- not planning anything any time soon, just finally got caught up on a lot of of negative vacation accrual, so not planning anything until next year or so. I do take off a day here and there, but it's mostly to get caught up around the house. The last vacation I had was back in October, went to San Fran to visit with my sisters.

Actually, it says "set", not "box" -- I wouldn't be surprised if they're just offering a package discount if you get all of them (looks like it's priced such that you get the EP for free), like the RCA Living Stereo sets. 4AD explicitly mentions a box set in the context of the Japanese mini-LP covers, which would make more sense. I wrote them, guess I better just hope they see my email. Oh, and for anime fans, are you as excited as I am that they're coming out with three Kenji Kawai compilations? Unfortunately, I only see a couple tracks each from GITS, GITS2:I, and Spirited Away (from googling), but at least they have "Reincarnation" (one of my favorite tracks ever).

Also, aren't electrostatics more sensitive to fine particulate matter (tiny hairs, etc.) than dynamic drivers? I'm not saying dynamic drivers aren't sensitive to stuff in the air (I distinctly remember a certain L3000...), but because of the high voltages, isn't it worse for electrostatics?

You obviously don't own any cats. Hirsch has a cat that place a cat hair in a specific place just by thinking about it. Of course, a hermetically sealed headphone-humidor won't help that, but it'll help reduce the hairs that "just happen" to get blown in there between the cracks.

Who believes HF will move ads back to the right side?

Fixed that for you. (I'm a Mac user, and I love Firefox.) -
No, I'd be looking for a normal discount, one they could still make money on, but a discount to us "early adopters" who "bought in". Something like the box set mentioned on the 4AD site:

That's why I like White Flint. You buy three at the upper counter, go put them in the car, then go back and buy three more at the lower counter. Besides, you can meet girls at Borders. Admittedly, I haven't yet, but I haven't given up completely. Dew et.

I can't find the post now -- who is selling pre-orders for cheap (or is it free shipping)?

Dude, you're talking to a bunch of people who use gold and silver interconnects, power cords that are better than what is in the walls, listen to music at specific times of day because it sounds better then, believe that equipment changes its sound over time, and use capacitors with the same specs made out of different materials. "Overkill" is not in our vocabulary...well it is, but as a design philosophy.

Will it even run over Edge on an iPhone/iTouch? -
Of course, that might explain why most things are sold by the time I see the ad.

I don't have anything specific, but for the only slightly more esoteric stuff, I tend towards CD-Wow. Unfortunately, you just missed Borders' 40% off sale.

Hirsch to the white courtesy telephone please. Paging Dr. Hirsch, white courtesy telephone immediately, you are needed in HSC...

Ha, I got most of you beat:

Yeah, I know, I know, it comes up all the time. A couple more from me: Steve Hackett, from Spectral Mornings -- "Lost Time in Cordoba"/"Tigermoth" Eric Johnson, from Tones -- "Trail of Tears"/"Bristol Shore" Genesis has done this rather wonderfully a couple of times now. Two examples: "Unquiet Slumbers for the Sleepers..."/"...In that Quiet Earth"/"Afterglow" from Wind & Wuthering & "Duke's Travels"/"Duke's End" from Duke ...come to mind.

I was actually thinking of getting a PS3. How is this an issue? Do the PS3's run hot? -
Low frequency oscillators? Lyte Funky Ones? Legal Financial Obligations? Low Flying Objects (I.E. that was your way of saying people throw things at you)?

That's assuming the radioactive squid are yours to sell. What if you dropped it in a friend's vat? -
No, instrumental pieces, songs with vocals, or a mix of the two will all qualify. Yeah, good call on that one -- that's a perfect example of the sort of thing I'm talking about. You know, every time this album comes up, I think to myself -- do I have that? Have I heard it? Recently? After this, I'm pretty sure I haven't. Ever. Need to fix that forthwith. Also not familiar with Rancid.

Alright, I'm thinking suites of songs that are shorter than an album side. Some that I particularly enjoy are: Robert Palmer, Sneakin Sally through the Alley, beginning of side 1 -- "Sailing Shoes"/"Hey Julia"/"Sneakin' Sally through the Alley" Rupert Hine, The Wildest Wish to Fly (US version), end of side 1 -- "I Hang on to My Vertigo"/"Firefly in the Night"/"A Golden Age" Planet P Project, Pink World, end of side 3 -- "Behind the Barrier (Pt. 2)"/"March of the Artemites"/"This Perfect Place (Pt. 2)" -- all of side three is dang near perfect, but it comes to such a wonderful crescendo with the March of the Artemites suite. This all came about because I saw a song that I couldn't think of hearing without hearing the song that immediately follows it. If I had to encode this in MP3 format, I'd wrap it up all as one file. Do you have any that you'd like to mention? Single song suggestions and side-long submissions will be immediately disqualified, pointed to and laughed at.

My Angel/Buffy DVD collection used to be half full (well, 7/12 full), but now it's full-full. I also have the low-profile version.
