Yup, pretty much what aerius said. My Spendors were the same way -- they sounded great at lower volumes, but they were easily pushed past a threshold where they initially started compressing, and pushed further they distorted. I do not find driver-based distortion pleasant in any way other than for the purposes of guitar tone. Give me a good optical compressor any day. Yeah, maybe 'fail' is too strong a word, they don't break. They just 'fail' to deliver music musically.

I don't smoke. I did, however, find my way downstairs and drank a cup...looking up, I noticed I was late...so I ate quickly, fed the kitteh and rushed off to work. Somebody spoke, so I spoke back. Had another cuppa, and plan to face piles of trials with smiles and turned dials. (It riles them to believe that I perceive the web they weave.)

I just bought those ugly shoes I posted elsewhere (one of the violently purple, and two of the "techy" black). Here's to hoping they fit, as they're out of my first choice of sizes. Yeah, it was just a suggestion. I, personally, do not have room for multiple tables, so that's what I'd do, but if you have the room (and finances, presumably) to do it right, by all means, do it right.

Just to be clear -- we don't usually mind a small amount of entropy, it's when it builds up to critical mass and it starts evolving into assmillinery that the mods start locking threads. Me, I have a background in physics, so I know that entropy only ever increases, so I just sit back and wait for the next big bang.
