I'm finally going to break down and start doing my own soldering, and thought that maybe I'd make some adapters so that I can use other sorts of tubes in my Singlepower (tube complement == 3 x 6sn7's). 7n7's should be easy --they're just a rewire. It was suggested that I try 5687's. Based on this: and other posts (mostly from Jacob), it seems that it's not a straight rewire. Anyone have any idea what the "schematic" would be? Any others that are straight rewires that I should also try? Thanks for any info.

Are you guys in Gaithersburg all going to ride down together and back up? If no-one is going to need a ride from me, then I'll take the metro/walk to get there. I'll assume that's the case, but invitation remains extended for me to drive anyone back that needs it -- you just have to let me know before I leave (the Brickskeller, that is). If you're all going to drink, then I could probably figure out a way to get my car over to Brickskeller later to drive 3 or 4 of you home (3 comfortably, 4 less so, but manageable). I don't intend to drink this evening. If it's not too inconvenient, I wouldn't mind my shirts, so that I can wash the sizing out of them this evening and wear one of them tomorrow.
