Actually, it's the 2TB that I got a while ago, I just never plugged it into that computer before (my housemate's desktop -- on which there were a couple files that I needed to offload). But I did just free up a couple of 250G's.

I just plugged a Cavalry in to a computer for the first time, and it came up as a WD.

Isn't "N-M-K-Y" the letters the Beatles are spelling on the cover of Help?
  4. You make that sound like a bad thing. PS Another Mackie HR824 owner checking in just to say hi.
  5. That's funny, because seeing them on SNL made me buy their album...with which I was thoroughly underwhelmed. Hot Chip is much better (music-wise, not production) -- more variety, etc. But I've been rather underwhelmed with the whole alternative music scene lately, so just ignore these ramblings of a jaded old man. And by radio, I presume y'all are discussing broadcast radio, because there's a lot of good stuff on Sirius/XM, the few times I've heard it.
  6. This thread is some serious 'whu?'...

    Whut?
  9. I wouldn't necessarily extrapolate her deeds to the entire genre. But ... yeezh -- why did I watch that?

  11. I believe used they go for less than that -- the hard part is finding a pair that someone is willing to give up.
  12. Type of the headsets -- dynamic, closed. interest...waning
  13. Pfff. I'm hardly the first. I believe that tradition is as old as two cavemen bartering over hot rocks. PS Good luck! PPS Ugh, just realized -- same state might imply taxes.
  14. That's what I was trying to say, yes.
  15. This is not the same headphone, but I thought it appropriate considering some of the recent comments about its looks:
  16. Please report back, that looks very interesting. (Also, it's a great name for it.)
  17. Actually, I was thinking something like this:
  18. If they're retailers, they're not likely to take you up on your offer. You can show them this and try the old, "they didn't even sell for $750" tactic, which gives you a little more credence. Or, if you're passive like I am, you could just say, "what is your best price, including shipping and insurance?" That actually works sometimes, especially if you're polite about it. And tell them that "you're ready to buy now". But someone with more experience negotiating online will give you a better answer.
  19. I'm pretty sure I don't want "plump" tonal quality. Sounds bloated. Me too!
