There's something wrong in Colorado...
Dusty Chalk replied to n_maher's topic in Headphone Amplification
User Control Panel ("User CP") -> Edit Options -> scroll down to bottom, change Message Editor Interface from Basic Editor to either Standard Editor or Enhanced Interface. And in answer to your question -- it's easy, because we still hold out hope that he's not an out-and-out thief. And I still do (like him/hold out hope), even though right at this very moment I wouldn't do business with him. Yes, he lies about being ready with stuff and that's bad, but so far, he has eventually delivered, if beyond previously promised dates. And yes, he's shipped completely different amps to people. And I will be the first to admit that's bad, and I completely sympathize with people who have been screwed over by the process, but at least it's not as bad as disappearing with everyone's money. I'm sounding like an apologist, but it's because I'm answering your question. Please note the "I wouldn't do business with him" comment -- that should say it all. -
For electrostatics, which 1K source?

Exactly. -
I'd jump on this, though I prefer the OBH-11SE (but that won't be under $100).

I've heard nothing but good things... ...from Postjack... ...about the 840c, though I haven't heard one, myself. -
No, I take that back...this is my favorite yet. Or maybe I've just got the giggles.

Green tea. Basically, it's my own take on the Arizona Iced Green Tea that they have. I've been using the Bodum 5500. I am just in the process of buying another one, as soon as they answer my question about whether or not shipping is free. Notice their shipping rates between $19.99 and $350:shipping rates -- it's a little weird. I'll probably give the one from Adagio Teas a try later in the year. I've never had a problem with plastic-ky taste, but I'll ask my housemate about it -- she makes exactly that -- french press coffee -- with it. We rinse it out with a vinegar/water mix every once in a while. The vinegar smell afterwards is much stronger than the taste, and only lasts for a couple iterations -- it goes away fairly quickly. If you're really worried about it, get a metal one. I don't know if the Adagio Teas one is lined, but now that I think about it, I would think that they would have to be, to avoid electrocution.

I am definitely a fan. Spiders!

What mods, besides the obvious (cable)?

We don't like vague "I've heard" type statements.

An electric kettle -- mine has been acting up, and it finally bit the dust tonight, so I'm going to have to do without my homemade for a couple days. ARRGH!!!1!

We had a problem with flies recently, they were everywhere. I hadn't noticed, but recently they had gone away. I stumbled upon what happened to them -- a spider happened to them. It was like the stereotypical scene in most horror movies where the girl stumbles upon the bodies like an abattoir. Except for flies. I cheered the spider.

You should put them up on stands like the Headroom ones. Or at least Mopads. -
So I came to the meet in my black-on-black Katatonia T-shirt (it basically looks like this one, only in black, and on the back, it says, "I'll stop wearing black when they come out with something darker"). Dan was going around taking pictures, and he said that he thought I should be wearing my "dusty special" black-on-black head-case T-shirt, so I put one on over top. So, at that point, I was basically wearing black-on-black on black-on-black. I had out-black-on-blacked myself.

Well, I did ask how to engage and disengage the EQ (and you did help), but now that I think about it, the first headphone I tried was the ESW9's, which just was not working in your setup, and the combined frustration I was feeling with listening to the ESW9's and not figuring out the DEQ2496 ...by that time, I just said, fuck it. The R10's were StevieO's. He might just take you up on that offer, since it's Virginia and not Maryland, but ... you sure you want to do that? Welcome to Head-Case, sorry about your thin skin.

I only watched the pilot. Meh. I love Yancy Butler, but...meh.

I heard it (St. Anger) in a store without knowing what it was, and didn't mind it as much as other people did. It is not -- contrary to popular belief -- universally despised. Just mostly so. I actually believe that Load and Another Load* were worse, music-wise. I'd love to hear what Luis could do with it. Now that would be a test of his ...erm... mettle. *as in "dropping"

Congratulations?
