  1. You make that sound like a bad thing. PS Another Mackie HR824 owner checking in just to say hi.
  2. That's funny, because seeing them on SNL made me buy their album...with which I was thoroughly underwhelmed. Hot Chip is much better (music-wise, not production) -- more variety, etc. But I've been rather underwhelmed with the whole alternative music scene lately, so just ignore these ramblings of a jaded old man. And by radio, I presume y'all are discussing broadcast radio, because there's a lot of good stuff on Sirius/XM, the few times I've heard it.
  3. This thread is some serious 'whu?'...
  4. (party favor noise)
  5. Whut?
  6. I wouldn't necessarily extrapolate her deeds to the entire genre. But ... yeezh -- why did I watch that?

  8. I believe used they go for less than that -- the hard part is finding a pair that someone is willing to give up.
  9. Type of the headsets -- dynamic, closed. interest...waning
  10. Pfff. I'm hardly the first. I believe that tradition is as old as two cavemen bartering over hot rocks. PS Good luck! PPS Ugh, just realized -- same state might imply taxes.
  11. That's what I was trying to say, yes.
  12. This is not the same headphone, but I thought it appropriate considering some of the recent comments about its looks:
  13. Please report back, that looks very interesting. (Also, it's a great name for it.)
  14. Actually, I was thinking something like this:
  15. If they're retailers, they're not likely to take you up on your offer. You can show them this and try the old, "they didn't even sell for $750" tactic, which gives you a little more credence. Or, if you're passive like I am, you could just say, "what is your best price, including shipping and insurance?" That actually works sometimes, especially if you're polite about it. And tell them that "you're ready to buy now". But someone with more experience negotiating online will give you a better answer.
  16. I'm pretty sure I don't want "plump" tonal quality. Sounds bloated. Me too!
  17. Computer cases are usually shielded, as long as you keep the cover on.
  18. You mean, "strong" wind, right? Because he got strong wind, but not necessarily good wind. In fact, "assault and battery" is probably more indicative of "not good".
  19. Or, you know, you could -- instead of worrying about "phases" and shit like that -- you could just divide the signal up into tiny increments based on time. Then you could amplify each bit separately. If you made your increments tiny enough, it wouldn't even have to be that accurate -- it could just be a full-on, full-off type number, and then it would have an equivalent effect.
