  2. I am not a tequila connoisseur, but tequila is probably my single favorite liquor. I didn't even know you could drink it straight (I usually drink it with orange juice, grenadine, and whatnot), until recently -- someone let me try a really good one. I also see a lot of the ones I've had before (which I previously thought were good, but aren't drinkable straight up) in your collection. Methinks you need to get more connoisseurish.
  3. Or maybe it was all 5 of them.
  4. I'm going to be zero help here, but: I like LightScribe.
  5. No, it's true. I have little human interaction in my job. Although I suspect I listen to a lot more albums than you do, because I got my success rate down to below 50%. The trick is to listen to moar music. When I first moved in with my current housemate, we played Scrabble pretty much every night for the first half year. We played online so I could listen to my music while we played.
  6. Now there's a platform I can get behind.
  7. I thought a zap filter was a ...erm...a thing -- who installed the zap filter?
  8. Yeah, but only 3 funny ones.
  9. I wouldn't go that far -- I happen to like Sony's implementation of DSD. Sony Insider reports: Anyone read Japanese?
  10. Yeah, but you need a baransudodejitaru-compatible system for that one. It appears they lied. I think what's special about this one is that it transmits DSD over HDMI, but can't seem to find corroboration.
  11. What if you painted balsa wood with little fake birds eyes?
  12. Black matches anything.
  13. Changed, not fixed. DIY is always the cheaper way to go -- I meant, of the commercially available options, that QED was one of the better price/performance ratio performers that I've heard.
  14. QED is another reasonably priced option.
  15. I think my subconscious is high on crack.
  16. Well, it was exactly because you're running it from your iPhone that I recommended the line-doubler. Oh, and good luck with that. I thought I heard that when it came to your bar, you were all responsible and stuff. Guess they were wrong.
  17. Oh, I have no idea, you're going to have to apprentice with someone.
  18. Grapefruit with a toothed spoon.
  19. Billy, once you get out of jail, and you resume movie night, you may want to look into a good line-doubler -- who knows what sort of improvements you could get with regular DVD-level quality video. Oh, and if you want to attract the "midnight movie" crowd, can I recommend, "I Was a Zombie for the FBI"?
  20. I'm a big fan of a well-implemented 2.1 system. I used to go Spendor S3/5a's w/ Sunfire True Sub Jr. The thing that was magical about that system was the continuous phase control (really just a micro-delay). Despite having completely different speeds, I could make the sub disappear by getting the phase right. So what I'm saying is, make sure that whatever you get has one of those. I believe SVS have them, not sure about HSU. What finish did you get again? I believe SVS have a shiny black that matches (or is close to) the Quad's shiny black. You'll have to ask humanflyz.
  21. Tyll looks like he's giving the kiss of sweetness in that one pic. (French accent)"Ze crepes, zey were superb..."(/french accent)
  22. I used to be a borderline shill when it came to the Quad L series. I was in the position of almost getting a pair, but then realized I'm heading in a different direction, speaker-wise (omni, etc.). I have to admit, the one time I heard them, they were positioned extremely well. (Several feet out from the wall.) So can't help you there. They were paired with a Manley Stingray, which wasn't as synergistic as I would have liked, considering that was the amp with which I was going to pair it at home.
  23. Did you take chemistry in high school? Might I suggest setting up a meth lab?
