SoFla Meet March 7, 2009?
I will officially not be in attendance.

Post the last thing you bought!
Alright, maybe not full face, but it's not just the just-nostril thing as was pictured above. It does sound like Darth Vader's assisted breathing apparatus thingy, though.

I have a full-face mask, myself.

Incorrect.

Audibility Of Distortion
I agree, it would be nice if we could submit some music recommendation to them. 4th movement of Dvorak's 9th or something similarly bombastic -- albeit well-recorded bombast -- would be an excellent choice (especially since it's one of my favorite pieces ever, anyway).

How is that his fault?

What are you EATING right now?
Healthy Choice Chicken Margherita -- less the chicken, so Healthy Choice Margherita spaghetti, basically.

Zana or Beta
Both good points about AudioCubes, wish I'd remembered to mention them.
-
Audibility Of Distortion
I got -33db with the two tone, but only -24db with the pop vocals
-
Zana or Beta
Absolutely, I've purchased from them before.

Yeah, but knowing you, it's probably really good. I love Stroganoff. (drums fingers, waits for someone to make the inevitable "I love strokin' off"/FTFY joke, limbers up the eye-roll muscles)

WHAT?!?!? Sorry, someone was going to make that joke sooner or later, might as well be me.
-
Zana or Beta
My thoughts almost exactly. I wouldqualify, though, that the best Beta22 represents top of the line, since there's more variance in Beta22 builds. I wouldn't get just any Beta22. I'd probably get the Zana Deux, too, even though I haven't heard it, just because it is so universally well regarded. And because I am unabashedly a tube-head.

What are you listening to Part Two
Yeah, one of my favorites from that year.

Nixon
I recently received an email from Barney's of New York that they're going to be carrying them, so perhaps once the weather gets warmer I'll wander across the bridge and see if I can listen to a pair.

What did you do today?
Dude, that sucks!

Did you break the dish rack by putting the teakettle in it?

Yeah, definitely, they didn't sound "bright" and "lean" at all when I heard them -- they're actually quite straightforward when driven well. I didn't even know there was a 600 ohm version -- I thought the DT880 came primarily in 120 ohm since it was released. I believe there are multiple versions -- I know on the Manufaktur website one can choose an impedance...

I know they're not very popular around here, but I've always enjoyed the Beyer DT880 every time I've heard them. And I see them for US$242.something on shopping.yahoo.com.

Should I just get a Pico???
I think the big question is whether or not anyone has run Sextetts off a Pico, and whether the amp is up to the task. I thought the Sextetts were power-hungry headphones, and although the Pico is very good, is it up to the task of Sextetts? Anyone ever run Sextetts off a Pico?
