You know what just dawned on me? You do that more or less on a daily basis. No wonder you're looking for a new home. The house next door hasn't sold yet. Of course, it's not being sold at foreclosure prices, but neither is it a fixer-upper.

(a) "...of your own"? He built the Menace in the first place. ( He's already mentioned the MenaceTC, we just don't know what the design is. And I don't think "TC" stands for "tender care".

You could put actual cupcakes in where the other Grados would go. Then you'd always have cupcakes available for those whimsical moments when you spontaneously wanted a cupcake.

Gas -- not usually notable, only I set a new record for myself -- the closest I've ever come to running out of gas. 13.0something gallons, and I think I have a 50 liter tank. I changed lanes too fast, and I almost stalled out. Remind me not to do that again -- the gas filter is in the gas tank or something weird.

Networking Alternatives: Powerline, MoCA, etc.?
A thought: in most houses, two phone lines are run -- if they're only using one, is there a way to use the second one as the network? I think the only problems are (a) that you'll have to make sure that all the phones in the house are using the two-wire method of connecting, and if not, their are stubs that you can put between the phone and the wall jack, and ( that you will have to make sure the second two wires are disconnected at the phone hub (wherever it is that it's connected to the phone service -- I know this, because at least once in my life, I had to get the second line connected, and they had to come out and physically connect it). I know this is good enough at least for DSL speeds.
