  1. The only other thing I would try (to diagnose the problem -- you should still call) is try the other gain settings.
  2. Heifetz, Brahms Tchaikovsky violin concertos, RCA Living Stereo SACD
  3. Josephs Legende, SACD Hmmm...there's a part of me that believes the copy I found (which, admittedly, was the first one I found) is better than a streaming webrip, but I have to admit, I was only listening in the car, which is a particularly noisy environment of late, so...who knows? The links I used have been taken down already. And for the record, I'm buying it the day it comes out, yes.
  4. Well, audiophiles argue about that word anyway, even when both parties are English-speaking (as their primary language). So the clarification was warranted.
  5. Yeah, twoth or threeth on the Beta22. Don't know the answer to your question regarding the Grace Design, all I know is that they are used for monitoring at Abbey Road, which is good enough for me. Studios of any worth prefer analytical/neutral to musical/euphonic every time. That said, GS-1 is certainly a no-lose choice, I agree with your conclusion.
  6. The copy I managed to find isn't bad. It's great, quite possibly working on being my second favorite PT release ever (the first being Stupid Dream). Nice mix of electronica in with the hard stuff, and interesting dynamics.
  7. Awesome news, Doug, congratulations!
  8. VTG! VTG! VTG!
  9. Hanauma Bay may very well be my favorite place on my favorite place (Hawaii in general) on earth.
  10. Grace Design m902?
  11. Upon doing a bit of research, the answer to my question is: artist, album, and album artist ("artist" being song artist). Slightly different for compilations (I think it ignores the artist fields, but don't know if it ignores both). A frequent point on doing this research is to watch out for invisible characters. So I would say: add some invisible characters. Try putting a space on the end or something. Let us know how it works, I'm booted into linux right now, so can't try it -- I usually only boot up into Windows for iTunes once a week on weekends.
  12. They look like little jewels. Nice logo, too!
  13. Host enclosure?
  14. ^-- I'm thinking some kind of impalement. That's poseur.
  15. Isn't there also the unabashed hipster snob?
  16. Ah, thanks for the correction.
  17. How can you have an old MS2i -- didn't they just introduce the "i" suffix series? I think maybe your painkiller prescription needs to be turned down a notch.
  18. Comsat Angels, Chasing Shadows -- I love this album so much. Classic post-punk, but really great songs.
  19. You guys can really milk a typo.
  20. I believe if it's a different genre, it will display as a different album on the iPod -- not sure about iTunes, though. If you figure out where to determine the algorithm for what constitutes a "different album", please let me know, I have some similar questions.
  21. Well then, forget it, they ain't small.
