  1. I will rent it for edification purposes. How faithful are they being to the original script? That whole "devotion" slant...was that brought out in the first episode of the original?
  2. No, actually, never saw it. Bits and pieces, but...no, not really.
  3. A for 'merkin.
  4. I think deliberately planning a modular design is nothing less than just plain foresighted, I got no problem with them admitting that they can't possibly know all the answers -- that is the way of the scientist/engineer. It's effectively making it tweakable, too.
  5. V pilot -- nothing is ever going to be as good an alien invasion premise again, since District 9.
  6. Yeah, don't get banned, LOL.
  7. The stated reason is that Jude's panties are bunched up about head-case and ipod-forums (I forget the name, think they had to drop the "ipod" due to trademark infringement) because we "steal traffic" (similar target audiences, etc.), and yet he's more than willing to take certain prominent head-casers' volunteer time to help moderate his forums and promote meets that also promote head-fi.
  8. Now you're talkin'.
  9. Yeah, it's the lotion that I use. "unscented baby-mild" -- the local My Organic Market had several, so I bought them out just in case. And I'm an atheist, but condone nutballship if it's mostly harmless. EDIT: Oh, oh, oh, lotion as in lotion, not as in liquid soap. Got it, never mind. I use the liquid soap, not the lotion. EDIT #2: Jesus Christ, it comes in a 5 gallon container?
  10. Oh, so, "geographically".
  11. They (dual monoblocks) are between the speakers; yes.
  12. I2S HDMI, really? That's a mistake that hasn't even fully been realized yet, and they're already perpetuating it? They should do HDMI HDMI, and make it decrypt DVD-A and SACD. But just in discrete stereo. They should have a little red LED that gets triggered by Dolby Digital or any of the DTS standards. (Or decode them, but only as an option, as I think that would incur too much expense.)
  13. So the SE isn't even out yet, and there'sa N-FE of the SE?
  14. Someday we'll look back on this and laugh. (cf. classic orthodynamics and electrostatics and electrets and Grado HP-1000 series and...)
  15. Separated by color? Weight? Dampness?
  16. Probably introducing some new shit.
  17. No, I have exactly one data point. So make of that what you will, thumper.
  18. Depends how much sunlight one has to contend with (I.E. if you're going to be watching in the day and don't have room-darkening shades and/or willing to use them), then they may not be best. Otherwise yes, but are there any 42" 1080p <US$1200 plasmas? Oh, look at that, the Panasonic has one or two...
  19. Link please -- where does he say that he has? My guess is, he hasn't.
  20. The new LED's are thin (this is in response to the wall-mount requirement) -- I believe Samsung is leading the fray here; might be over your budget. I love the Sharp Aquos LCD's -- especially the 42" and 46". They have new 120Hz or 240Hz or something ones. I'd recommend 120Hz or 240Hz.
  21. You might want to add: "has a good macro" to your list of desires/requirements, if you ever want to take pictures of the insides of the Singlepower, or if you want to sell something not large and take pictures of it.
  22. I always thought TAD's looked hawt:
  23. Because every once in an infrequent while, you get through to someone who is only a shithead because they're ignorant, and in need of learning. Not me, though, I'm just lazy.
  24. LOL @ 'bit'. They (digital cables) need to meet the minimum criteria, but after that, MHO is that further improvement is nonexistent, whereas with audio cables, I think there is still an asymptotic curve (I.E. the usual lip service to diminishing returns, but no 'threshold' proper).
