  1. As was mentioned elsewhere, they're closing down plants. "One left", I think I heard? Is that, "...in the world", or is that just in the mainland USA?
  2. No, not at all -- I was just trying to show off my prescience skills.
  3. That's the part I was worried about -- so just don't bother with that part, I will. Thanks.
  4. PS Does anyone know what kind of connector it has? It's a twist-and-lock type which I've never seen before. You know, just in case I want to give it an aftermarket cable or something. The length of the extant one is perfect for my office setup, though -- doesn't drag on the floor (too short), but the length (and coil) are such that it doesn't pull from the left (where the amp is) at all, so sufficiently long.
  5. I spoil my kitties so hard.
  6. Did you look at the Qupins at all (head-direct)? I stumbled upon them today while looking for information on the HE-5. They seem to be single driver, most of them, which bodes well (not trying to do too much).
  7. Thanks for the heads up -- so that's what, 9 that have been released so far?
  8. Alas, requires me shopping at Walmart -- pass.
  9. 's'truth.
  10. I'll take that $5 -- not white enough. And yes, I see that that's a Macbook they're running off of -- I still say that's not in the Apple store.
  11. Taking into account average plane speed, the inability to withstand the vacuum of space, and the amount of gas in the tank, I would say the Atlantic Ocean.
  12. What kind? Spring, foam, water, nails, other?
  13. Railgun including theory, explained.
  14. Received mine yesterday -- faster than anticipated. Initial impressions are good with the SACDMods-modded Denon/Singlepower Supra++. Nice, noneventful frequency response, great isolation. I would have to agree that at a little over US$100 (I think mine was US$130-ish when all was said and done), it is the best closed headphone near its price range. Doesn't outshine the VTG, however (but we're talking the next step up at that point).
  15. Ignore those two (and Steve when he posts) -- he also uses small amounts to close cuts.
  16. So when one uses small amounts such as you and Fitz use, it doesn't get noticeably warm?
  17. I'll be doing the buy two/maybe sell one shootout. ("Maybe" == I suck at selling stuff.)
  18. Really great review Al -- I'm not usually a modern* jazz man, but you really made me want to hear that. *By modern, I mean free, dissonant, scat-based, etc.
  19. [vulture mode]I'll take the ESW10JPN -- I'll even pay for them.[/vulture mode]
  20. I've always wanted to own a Blue Microphones microphone, and for $40 (on gold box), I couldn't resist.
  21. Good point. I'd ask.
  22. That'd be nice.
  23. Well then the other advice might be to wait and get the drivers until the US$ improves against the euro/deutschmark/whatever, depending how optimistic/patient you are.
