Sergey Lukyanenko, The Last Watch aka The Final Watch -- Jesus Christ this guy is good. On top of the whole fantasy storyline, there's also the mystery, and I love how he presents the "detective" going through his thoughts, and getting stuck on a particular analysis, and it clouding his judgment towards seeing the real thing. (It's a sequel to the Night Watch/Day Watch/Twilight Watch trilogy.)

Well, fewer components in the signal path would be the theoretical reason why they would think it would sound better. Maybe "frequency response" isn't a high priority with them.

Anyone know of a good resource for determining the details of audio tracks of Blu Ray disks? I was browsing in the store, and if I hadn't picked up the Cure Trilogy Live in Berlin and looked at the back, I never would have known that there was a stereo 24/96 track on it. Wouldn't mind knowing if there are others out there. I'm sure there are some good high-res surround disks, but I'm of course mostly interested in stereo. Yes, I already know about the 2L label (DSD and such, music-only Blu-Ray disks), and of course the Nine Inch Nails Ghosts I-IV was the first Blu-Ray I ever bought. And yes, while googling, I did stumble across that Celine Dion disk. Perhaps if you know of any others, just post them here?

It's the same connector as the iPod, so yes; but there are other issues (the software on the iPhone has a way of determining if the connector is iPhone compatible or not and complains, but I believe otherwise works).
