Sure you can. I just looked around, and most of the numbers quoted say you're right -- it should be fine. I wouldn't. Some CPUs won't unlock once they overheat. But the 40's should be fine. At least keep monitoring it -- you don't want to come anywhere near your threshold.

No it's not. Not Celsius anyway. Do the math, 65 Celsius is about 149 Fahrenheit. And before anyone else corrects me, yes I'm pretty sure he quoted the units right, especially if he was overclocking AND had both his fans off AND the ambient room temperature is already 71 (note to Billy -- it's never cooler inside the computer than it is outside the computer -- that's why there's cooling).
