What did you do today?
Did you want to mention that it looked different? Or did you conclude that they just ran out of black?

What did you do today?
I watched Justin mod my headphones. I mean, I learned about modding headphones from Justin. Still not as good as the T50's. But this was the first pass; there will be others.

HP Firebird? HDMI and Dual-Link DVI video outputs.- What did you do today?
That's awesome, except that's good jazz, you need to torture them. Play them some Zorn or something. There are some great stories on the web of what to say to telemarketers -- yes, far beyond, 'can I call you back at your dinner time'. Things like: "oh thank god you called, I was about to kill myself" "I'm kind of busy right now, can I call you back...hey, you might know, do you think I clip the red wire or the blue wire?" "whatever you're selling -- can I pay for it in food stamps? If so, I might be interested" "do you have to get up in the middle of the night to pee? Frequently?"- What bizarre foods have you eaten?
The most bizarre food I've ever eaten is sushi. I know, I'm boring; do you know what? Fuck you. I'm not eating a fucking bug.- Acoustic tubes and pipes, and their use in Headphones
AudioCubes link So it's kind of like an IV of bass.- What did you do today?
So you can get paid to do nothing? Without the frustration factor that causes your basement to fill? What's not to love?- 2009 HC Holiday Gift Exchange
WEGman's English Breakfast, and at Wegman's. Is very good, need to go make some nao.- How big is your music collection?
LP's -- 'Wowsers' is right. SACD's -- Wowsers again, I don't think even I have that many. Are there really that many different ones, or are there some duplicates in your collection?- Post the last thing you bought!
That Lamy Safari looks very nice. Even the nib is black, huh? I might have to give that a try. I have a couple of friends who are into fountain pens, and've never understood the attraction, but have been curious enough to give it a try. I might just have to follow suit.- Best Sennheiser?
No, not really (I am agreeing with the rest of your post here) -- there is only one kind of neutral, anything else is ...well, not neutral. I know what you meant, -- that there is this thing which people incorrectly hear as neutral, but...it's just not neutral. 'Suck' (as in certain frequency range suckouts) is probably a better word for what you're trying to describe, but after all the K701 talk (I remember liking them, but I also remember finding them not doing anything that any of my other headphones did), I'm not going to specifically ascribe those to the K701, since I obviously remember them differently.- How big is your music collection?
Wouldn't that sink your boat? And what is your boat doing in Oklahoma? I have over 5,000 CD's (probably thousands more), and over 2,000 records.- Free NIN concert video - "Another Version Of The Truth"
Thanks for pointing me at this, Brent, probably wouldn't'a known it existed if you hadn't.- Paradigm SE 3

It's Weggy Ebby, just for the record.- What are you listening to Part Two
Oh yeah, it's completely old school.- 2009 HC Holiday Gift Exchange
Yeah, I'll be curious whether or not you like them -- I definitely did not play it safe. But they're two of my favorite albums from the last 10 years, and they're within your sphere of listenability, so thought it worth the chance. Jin's -- yours was less of a chance. Hope you like the tin. Yeah, I really like that wrapping paper -- black, plus it has a vague paganistic flavor to it, though I think it's just supposed to be a reindeer, I thought it pleasantly dark. Got it at Borders two or three years back, went around to as many as I could, I am now set to wrap presents until the end times.- Managing separate versions of the same album in iTunes?
You can delete them after you put them on the iPod (as long as you're not using the sync option) -- they're certainly recreatable.- Ye Macce Threade
That's a little too much information.- What are you EATING right now?
Frosted Mini Wheats, Cinnamon Streusel flavor. Probably nothing like spritzer's streusel, but it's sporting.- Fuck in snow
Dew et. But as a link, not as an embedded image.- slow forum
- Which Head-Caser's Music Collection Do You Envy?
Other than the complete lack of organization issue, of course. I don't envy anyone's. I do envy people who know what they like and get it -- people like Aardvark, Deepak, postjack, even Colin. And grawk of the multiple copies of one album fame. I admire their focus. But on the other hand, having so much music that you're constantly discovering new stuff within one's own collection is rewarding in an entirely different way. I've been accused of liking music that is less than best -- and it's true. But I think I had adopted Hirsch's rule of 'if you don't make some missteps/fall flat on your face, you're not trying hard enough to stretch your boundaries', subconsciously, before it was even formulated as a thought, much less stated out loud. I'm not saying everyone has to stretch their boundaries. But I do. I enjoy being surprised by something completely out of (my) left field. I also enjoy tried and true, of course, too.- Paradigm SE 3
