  1. Who are you, and what have you done with Billy?

I agree with you completely -- especially in this area. And the funny thing is, I don't think it's entirely tech-related. Some of it has to do with economy (people just are being more frugal than previously), and some of it has to do with agreements (like the AT&T/Apple/iPhone one) that needs to play out before something else can happen.

I have a co-worker who is selling her Kindle DX + red leather cover + protective gel for back + remainder of extended warranty ($663 value) for $400 -- good deal? I'm thinking about it. The cheapest I'm seeing a DX by itself previously having been sold on eBay is $398, so I'm thinking the extended warranty alone makes this worth it.
  4. Well, you never know until the meet actually starts as to what's going to be there. Unfortunately.

(makes mental note: 'things to look for') I'm actually thinking I might wait 'til summer, too. I'm going to see if I can get my Palm 700p replaced under the extended service plan, but I might be too late in the game to do so. I'm happy with the tiniest of keyboards over a soft one, but I do prefer a real keyboard.

Thanks, I'll be sure to demo first.
  7. This one.
  8. The problem is, he doesn't know all the DACs he's going to throw at it, yet.
  9. Nice -- lotta good stuff there.
  10. I need to do that. I have access to quite a few very good asian markets.
  11. Sounds good; home-made?

I might well be going Droid.

Thanks, I think that chorus is going to get stuck in my head. What can I say, I'm a sucker for easy lyrics.
  14. Good ones would be. To me, anyway (he says after lifting up his chair after having run over the cord for the umpteenth time today). Remember, that means the amp and the DAC would be in the headphone.
  15. Not just warranty, but if there's no factory, you can't actually send it back to the factory for repair, if it gets to that point. Someone would need to stockpile spare parts, too, for those that need replacing.
  16. Oh shit! Wayne...my man! That made me loller. The timing...good god...
  17. Reuben from the cafeteria downstairs...blah blah blah...cute girl is cute...blah blah blah...
  18. I'm thinking home theater installation products, like inwall headphones speakers.
  19. "prototype" -- Yes, it's (currently) one of a kind. "...floating..." -- ah, nice, clear and accurate even for the pedants (I.E. me). EDIT: Well, I thought it was clear -- I took "floating balanced" to mean it was balanced up until the wires went out to the headphones without the third ground wire.
  20. Swap the left and right channel tubes.
  21. "Colin Toole, Internal Affairs"
  22. Where does that fall in the Careless Love > Half the Perfect World range? Careless Love just spoke to me more than Half the Perfect World did. Half the Perfect World was too mainstream for my tastes. Which, admittedly, are weird.
  23. Me == 'pay attention' fail.
