  1. Sure there is: you could hack the Mac Mini and rewrite the USB driver so that it appears as an external drive to the Oppo. There's also the network connection. But I guess that depends what the Oppo does with that. Ask yourself this question: do you use the analog outs, or the HDMI outs? (Or other.)
  2. Another to the list of MOT's whose personal thingy is screwed up: TomB. I think it's just all mots, but if Whomever wants to search for starts with "open bold" and ends with "close a tag", that should fix all of them.
  3. There's something...I don't know..."8-bit" about that. In a good way.
  4. Oh, I've had one of those. The deli where I used to work called it a Ms. Reuben.
  5. Passive aggressive? Aggressive aggressive!
  6. "Lux Aeterna" by Clint Mansell from the Requiem for a Dream soundtrack
  7. rachel - Google Search ?
  8. Snow-pocalypse! Today will be a-popsicle-lypse, though. Everything that melted overnight is now frozen, so the slush that people were driving through yesterday like a knife through butter will tear the undersides of their cars apart (brake lines!) like an iceberg through the Titanic. Good luck with that, I'm staying home. And yeah, I should probably dig the other car out. That is, indeed, going to suck.
  9. Alison Moyet Revisited I forgot what a great track "Hoodoo" is.
  10. Newman's Own Bavarian pretzels
  11. Translation: it's closer than I am, so it counts as "in the area".
  12. I am definitely looking forward to seeing your drawings.
  13. I, too, got nuthin', but look forward to what you end up doing, and of course meeting you. Though Baltimore != DC area per se.
  14. I don't know about you, but I want it the other way around, I want to print to my (iPad/Kindle/whatever) in lieu of really printing.
  15. I am fortunate in that software engineers have a reputation for eccentricity that I feel a need to perpetuate.
  16. Yeah, but I bet you could get an awesome snowball effect going.
  17. And yet, awesome animated gif.
  18. That's a lot of theorizin' -- it's tradition.
  19. Hey, Dan, they have an Invicta Automatic for $75 here. Not sure how long they'll last, though. Something about "half-time"...? EDIT: Looks like you can only buy one with the discount, original URL. Plus, there are a bunch of other automatics.
  20. Original T-shirt here.
  21. Agreed. The best advice I can give (and remember from whom this is coming) is, set some guidelines for yourself. Like don't get two watches that look the same, even if they have different movements or whatever. Or a rule I'm going to start laying down for myself is find out what movement is inside -- no cheesy movements. Dinny, you only want one watch.
  22. Fan service...has the AKG K1000 spread out more-or-less correctly...that AKG K1000 pic is win.
  23. We're still high-tailing it out of Dodge come Friday, right? One way or another? PS I'm done shoveling, my car is accessible until the next time they plow the driveway in, anyway. It took three iterations of shoveling to clear the apron.
  24. I think they were suggesting you contact them with at least finding out what unit they use as the transport. If not buying just the transport from their service center. I concur that you don't want them doing such trivial work if it's not under warranty, but who knows, they still might. Looks like a nice unit, here's to hoping you get it working again. And: have you tried just cleaning it? They have special CD's that you insert that have a brush on them.
  25. Just want to stress this -- I've had screws start off well enough, even for more than a couple turns, but didn't stop working until towards the end. That whole metric/non-metric thing.
