  1. Yeah, he’s the one who wrote the thing that he was playing that she was dancing to. He’s been active in King Crimson ever since. He’s famous for keeping a stable of very talented and very disciplined musicians together. That’s what makes it so eye-popping—he’s actively encouraging this behavior, and I would even go so far as to say that he seems to be enjoying it.

    Watchmen

Thanks Ric, that got me to the right place for the free streaming.

    Watchmen

I was looking at HBO-Now, but ... same concept. And who knows, I might even keep (one or the other), kinda wanted to watch the new Perry Mason, too.

    Watchmen

Thanks. I just cancelled my Comcast television subscription service, so was looking forward to the free programming. Oh well, fuck those capitalist swine.

    Link? I'm not finding it.
  6. I’m re-listening to Al1ce’s acoustic set from two weeks ago, it sounds so good. That bowed upright bass...
  7. Yay! Glad you got it sorted.
  8. Want.

  10. Happy birthday, Kerry! (party favour noise)
  11. Lollers, I’ve never heard that version, only the Filter version. which I do dearly love thanks for opening my ears to it
  12. I’m pretty sure you can do 24/96 over USB 2.0
  13. Yeah, if you have the freedom to move the sub closer or farther away, that’s the same thing as continuous phase on the Sunfire.
  14. I thought at first you meant the standard 19 inch width rack -- I do already have many rack MIDI modules (e.g. the previously mentioned JP8080 and elsewhere mentioned Furman conditioner). I have enough old MIDI gear that I should probably get a USB-hosted DIN MIDI hub -- any thoughts on those? MOTU 8x8?

    Downton Abbey

Nope, I tend to prefer everything if it's less American and more English/British but hate Downton Abbey. There has to be at least one more level of qualification that I'm missing. White slavery?
  16. This animation is amazing, the song is beautiful, and I love how the video and lyrics are two different takes on the same (sweet) concept (your loved ones aren’t truly gone if you hold them in your heart).
  17. This version is both inferior and superior to the versions playing in my head, not sure why (other than the obvious—it doesn’t go on for an hour).
  18. Donald Brinegar Singers, Celebration Collection Yes, really. The lead singer of Al1ce shared privately with me that she sings on here, so I gave it a serious listen and it's so peaceful and soothing and perfectly sung I can't help but love it.
  19. Not with either of those two, but when I first discovered audiophile equipment, I ran my Spendor S3/5a speakers with a small Jolida integrated amp and a Sunfire Subwoofer. A couple lessons learned, but the biggest one is the difference between longer cable runs (the sub's crossover can relieve whatever amp is driving the Cicadas from having to amplify those lower frequencies) vs having a less accurate crossover point (the Cicadas probably have a lower frequency roll off that can be -- very roughly -- matched with the sub's crossover), so spend some time researching both. The Sunfire had a nice feature called "variable phase" which basically adjusted microdelay. It definitely made integrating easier. Also, where the crossover point is very important -- the lower the better.
  20. Matt Elliott, Farewell to All We Know bleak music
  21. So technically, that should say, “You were here”.
