  1. What are you worried about, you pant(singular)less pachyderm? And in your case, you probably have two pairs of said headphones, so you should always refer to headphones in the plural.
  2. If you showed me one and asked me which it was, I probably wouldn't be able to tell you, but from what I could tell in a decent in-store audition was, it was just a little less harsh to my eyes. Could probably have been placebo as well. Plasma > LED > LCD, I think. Hard to say without a rather large budget and being able to audition all three for weeks in-home. I envy those people. I say go with that plasma. I think Hirsch got his (and I want to say it was a G15 and that the alternative was a G10, but he can pipe in here if he likes) from one of the cheaper online shops (somethingth street?), and he is extremely satisfied with his purchase.
  3. The relationship you have entered is too short.
  4. So that means you're, what? 44? Just curious, sometimes it gives us a little perspective. Not sure if you meant high school or college or what.
  5. You guys really believe multi-tasking is on deck? For those of us who developed for the iPhone, there were constant rumors about multi-tasking being on deck, but in reality it never came, and I suspect the reason it was always backburnered was because if you wanted multi-tasking, you jailbroke your iPhone. So consider me permanently entrenched in the "I'll believe it when I see it" camp. That, and the bluetooth keyboard. (Did that ever come to pass? I've stopped following.)
  6. Had a hard drive die on me yesterday (the fabu Seagate "click of death" -- no, I'm not even going to defend myself from that one, thought I updated the BIOS, didn't), spent (yesterday and) today getting my system back to where it was and me with my work back to where I was, when we had a brown-out. My UPS responded to said brown-out by doing the exact opposite of what it was supposed to do, namely, shut off all electricity to the power outlets. Permanently. double-+- Not a good week for me.
  7. Multi-touch?
  8. No worries, I was just playin' the contrarian. Well, no, actually, I really do like them, but the seeming acerbicity/acerbicness/acerbia of my post was playful. I would even go so far as to say that away from each other, on a really good amp (e.g. BHSE, ES-1), I'm not sure everyone would be able to tell the difference. The coloration that I heard (slight midbass hump) worked well for rock-and-roll, and is probably the one you're thinking of will go away with mods, so: spot on. Also, nothing a little EQ couldn't solve. Also: moar black (at least, the black one is).
  9. Yeah?
  10. Of course, the conversations would get a little old. "Wanna go for a walk? Okay, I'll wait here..." "Hey, wanna go out for ice cream? Okay, I'll wait here..." "Would you mind walking my dogs? I mean children? Thanks, I'll wait here..." "Beer? There's a bar downtown, I'll give you directions..."
  11. But you don't get the cool case.
  12. I think it's the killing that makes us content.
  13. Where does the O2 Mk II fit in with the O2 > 4070 > 404LE > O2 circle of greater-thans?
  14. Pandora?
  15. Absolute vs. per capita?
  16. Hooray! EDIT: That looks bad, after stretch's post -- it was directed at Nebby. Ditters!
  17. If someone can get QEMU running on a jailbroken iPad, can you run any damn thing you want? It's already got some ARM support.
  18. Black is the old black.
  19. At 9 feet it won't be a problem, but when it moves to a different function, you might want that extra resolution. I know I would. And x3 on the calibration issue.
  20. My point exactly. It's because it's black.
  21. (wanders off to prepare himself a hot chocolate)
  22. Black 404 > non-black 404
  23. Is that good or bad? I've liked the Sharp Aquos that I've seen, but admittedly, that was a couple (2-ish) years ago at this point.
