Sad for no pic of chili, but that shore is some nice looking iron skillet cornbread.

ohmigosh, so much better. I hate those vocals. Thank you for that. Frost* provided an instrumental version in the deluxe edition of their latest album, Day & Age. Kinda proggy, highly recommended.

I found out I had cheap mapo tofu within walking distance, so I tried it for the first time today. It was...cheap and kinda generic tasting, but still delicious.

Framework Laptops
Dusty Chalk replied to Knuckledragger's topic in GoRedwings19's Computer Help Hotline
It has to be a laptop, right? You sometimes (and hope to return to) DJing out, right? So it can't be a Mac Mini or mini desktop (+ keyboard + mouse + mousepad + portable monitor), right? Yeah, I don't know what to tell you, I tend to stick to the tried and true. So I ended up pre-ordering an Asus. I've been following the Framework laptops. I wouldn't put a whole lot of credence into his investment, though -- that's more of a vote of confidence in their business model of perpetual upgradeability, than it is in the machine itself. That said, I do kinda really dig that modular, perpetually upgradeable platform. Tres cool. And having used both Windows and MacOS, I would suspect you will be reminded of things with the Windows OS that will frustrate you inordinately, that you haven't thought of, yet. -

A friend of mine paid me in Costa Rican coffee. They're pretty delicious:

I actually own that on DVD. I really liked it! Fortunately, they only did the first three books. Before things got really weird.

Argh, I meant subs. I mix up "neck" and "bridge", too. DERP

Always liked that album. Me: some Rush, some other stuff, but mostly new to me hard rock band, In Search Of Sun. Really digging this. Hard rock is the sweet spot for me.

No shit! That was new information to me, thanks for sharing. And it is pretty cool. I must usually watch subs dubs, because it set me to sub dub.

More Nando's-at-home. Today's flavour is Coconut Milk & Lemon. Had chicken thighs earlier -- added some of the garlic flavour on top after it was done cooking, but while it was still in the oven. Had a delicious, vaguely Thai curry flavour to it. Now making fish, but with just the coconut milk & lemon this time, I think.

Yeah, finished watching the whole thing a couple weeks ago. BRUTAL! WRT both violence and emotion. I really dug the highly stylized visual presentation, the soundtrack, and the premise. So many great moments, I can't pick just one.

Asus VivoBook Pro Ryzen 9. I’m not a gamer, so I wanted something more professional, yet still powerful enough to develop on, and this seemed the best bang-for-the-buck.

Well, if you watch the video, OLED is a bunch of lights -- not just down to the pixel, but down to the lighting element (individual colours of each pixel), and -- like any other light -- burn out, so I wouldn't assume that. I think if I keep the order, I will change the way I usually work, so that it shuts off the screen as much as possible, and will make sure the softwares I use don't derp when it goes to sleep (Tidal does, not sure about Cubase). I'm actually going to check right now that the screen is replaceable.

I have an OLED laptop on order -- do you think I should cancel it?

Any early adopters want to weigh in on this?

Happy birthday, Steve! (party favour noise)

Apparently, Korean supernatural/science fiction/fantasy procedural…somethings are a thing. Black, Sisyphus, Rugal are three I’m watching.
