  1. Actually, $1.2K for a Macbook Air is pretty reasonable. Definitely considering it. I really wish it came in mauve, though. Fuchsia would be too much of a stretch for them, but they could at least do a dusty rose or the like.
  2. Friggin' sweet, Shelly! That semi-octagonal shaped room would be great for acoustics...or terrible, I don't know. Might be easier to defeat the single node if it's a regular octagon...
  3. DJ Cummerbund is on TikTok!
  4. Made some guisada -- it came out great! -- pretty similar to my recipe for ghoulash, except added achiote seeds to get that distinct flavour and almond flour to thicken it up, so that it would stay on tortillas.

a friend and a buuuuuuuuuuuuuuunch of his friends covered an entire Porcupine Tree album.
  6. No, not because of the cover. Listen to it, it's wack. Try track 9 (no, I still don't know Japanese). Also some nicely fusionistic big band: https://tidal.com/browse/album/209555375 And...prog stoner? I guess. https://tidal.com/browse/album/219252488
  7. Fuck me. My Prophet 5 is my favourite synthesizer of all time.
  8. Balduk...er...I mean...buldak...but oven roasted rather than skillet fried...I don't know why, but I prefer this method of cooking. No cheese, no rice cakes, but I did a thing of rice, which soaked up the leftover buldak paste just fine. Yum yum
  9. I've actually opened (and closed!) a ticket with them, so let me know if you want me to get involved. All I would need to do, would be to recreate the problem. Now I want to find my favourite version of it, I think it's this one, but don't quote me on that: https://tidal.com/browse/album/107108335 I also tend to like Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam, so it may be this one: https://tidal.com/browse/album/59195982
  10. That sucks that you experience it that way, I'm listening to it now via Tidal, and I'm not hearing any gaps. That said, I have experienced that in the past, and it's maddening, so I sympathize. Me, some thrash prog: https://tidal.com/browse/album/217042404
  11. I had to encrypt a file manually, and provide the password to the recipient via non-email means, so the guy tested the password I came up with. It told us that the password I came up with had a chance of being guessed was one in undecillion. He said he didn't know how many zeroes there were in undecillion, so I looked it up. Turns out, it's 36 in Merkin and 66 in British. Weaksauce. I'd still want to be an undecillionaire in either country.
  12. Agreed, no argument. That said, how do I say this? In the style of Zang Tumb Tuum PR I'm enjoying it for what it is, rather than not enjoying it for what it is not.
  13. Close enough (@cetoole can attest) Oooh, they ship... https://bagelofthemonth.com/ Argh, but no rye or pumpernickel. Except pictures.
  14. Patty Gurdy -- Irish electric hurdy-gurdy playing ginger Her collaboration with symphonic metal band Scardust is fantastic -- I love the Celtic influence (I love the goofball bassist and silly drummer faces, but I relate more to the way-too-morose guitarist and keyboardist.) xPropaganda -- 80's band Propaganda reincarnate with ZTT and Stephen Lipsom -- synthpop with MILFs, Dusty like:
  15. Oooh, thank you, will check them out. Thank you! 🤤
  16. Tried to figure out how to import true New York City bagels... ...from New York City. And no, I am not inebriated. I just miss a proper bagel. I do already know how to import a pastrami sandwich, though.
  17. To be fair, I was questioning that it was made at all. But in your defense, I was not questioning that it was an effigy of a moose. Nope, no problem with that at all.
  18. Happy birthday, Raffy! (party favour noise)
  19. I just recently got myself this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1657652-REG/asus_16_vivobook_pro_m7600qe_xb99.html 32G, AMD Ryzen 9, high-res OLED display albeit non-touch, under $2K. I waited forever for it, though (well, 6 months, but with today's technology, that's eternal). They also have lower end models.
  20. Seems like that would frustrate chocoholics -- to have that much chocolate on display, and not be allowed to eat it. I would make it an installation, like a moose-shaped chocolate fountain or something. And allow eating, but in a controlled, food-safe manner. And yes, dark chocolate over milk chocolate.
  21. > ...made of 1700 pounds of fine grade milk chocolate...
  22. I couldn't find a reasonably sized 100% grass-fed brisket, but I did find an extra-thick (2.5 cm?) London Broil. Embedded about 42 garlic spikes (it looked like a porcupine or graph paper), encrusted it with pepper (black, white, and pink), other spices, and herbs, let sit for 24 hours or so, then cooked at the lowest setting (225-ish) for about 45 minutes, wrapped in baking parchment and tin foil to keep in the moisture, and it came out super delicious and perfect. Is making about 7 meals. Definitely doing this again.
  23. Happy birthday! (party favour noise)
  24. Feel good music Antonio, this is fusion, albeit pretty easy listening, you might like: T-Square 2022 and 2021 albums, Wish and Fly! Fly! Fly!
