He also did that Chess song... I think his brother was too small to make it big.

I think I blew one of the speakers in my car. I blame this song (at approximately the 1:24 mark): https://song.link/us/i/1457106550

They must've promoted it differently more accurately targeting its market. Success!

I actually need to read that next. I read Slant, not realizing it was book 4 in a series, and thought it was great.
-
One can also sample it on Bandcamp. https://kelela.bandcamp.com/album/raven

Also RIP Burt Bacharach. But Jesusfuckingaitchchristalmighty, my heart goes out to all of those in Turkey & Syria.

Ooh, thanks for the heads-up! I missed it entirely, AND he's releasing tomorrow.

Fixed. I blame LinkedIn -- they told me yesterday.

Damn. I read a lot of what he wrote. Condolences x like 4,000.

Happy birthday birthweek, @VPI/Woodworker/Jeff! (party favour [Illi]noise!)

I love Chris Rea. I usually hate blues (other than Robert Cray, Albert Collins, and other 80's blues guitarists), but his blues box set has totally ruined me -- it's entirely listenable, but now I can't listen to anything else any more.

Unrelated: Also listening to a lot of Piazzolla and Mats-Up is largely instrumental, so I've been listening to those as well.

No, not really. "3." was just incorrectly placed, as I CBA to find the "therefore" symbol. I fixed it for you. (not entirely -- the indenting is still fucked up. ) EDIT: okay, now I really fixed it She's amazing. I've seen her live. Pretty sure she has tied Alice Sara Ott and outpaced Hélène Grimaud as my favourite living pianist.

Two things: Beato recently posted this video: I've been programming (in Go(lang) and Python), as well as taking a lot of video lessons in programming, so I need music without vocals, so... ∴ I've been listening to a lot of Yuja Wang.

Yeah! Frost* are great! Please also feel free to check out Lonely Robot. Me: still obsessed with Mats-Up and Pinhas & Sons.

"thigss"? But yeah, I get your point: whoopsie! Maybe I will try it, but I gotta finish this batch of Nando's-at-home right now.

The Knuckledragger 3rd Memorial Slow Forum Post
Dusty Chalk replied to Knuckledragger's topic in Off Topic
I want to make a meme that says, something like: You can't spell Punxatawny Punxssatawnay Punxsatwany Punxsatawn without -
I was in Wegmans earlier today yesterday, and they had two cook-in-bag chickens: "butter chicken style curry" and "British style curry". WAT. I know Brits (and Anglophiles and such) love curry, but I didn't realize there was a distinctly British curry that was different from Indian curry -- are you aware, and can you explain it to me?

This is crazy great

Unrelated -- me: two new discoveries. First is big band-ish small ensemble, Mats-Up. Also, Pinhas & Sons -- Israeli nine-piece: Both of these are absolutely ace.

It's all wrong notes!
