I've been on a First Wave of Post-Hardcore kick lately. Sunny Day Real Estate, Diary Girls Against Boys, (pretty much whatever hits my fancy, will probably end up listening to the entire discog, including EPs) Fugazi's probably next

Dagnabit, this is one of the only places left where I can still use the word, "cunt", without getting cancelled. Every place else, I have to use the unisex, "asshole".

I love Yello so hard. I even got their ridiculous multimedia boxset.

At least you don't put bananas in yours.

I have a Pro-Ject, but it seems even that would be outside of her budget. https://www.turntablelab.com/collections/turntables-under-350-alpha Perhaps the Numark USB one? I don't think it would need a preamp.

In the parlance of the kids, I'm serious, not just the fact that you do this every year, but the fact that you keep up your physique throughout the year is very admirable. -

Apropos of nothing in the above discussion, Luis tries croissants in Paris while the city riots. I have to imagine the smell of burning garbage tainted the enjoyment of that particular croissant. You had me at your first sentence. I have big issues with the two-party system when both of them are as extreme and broken as they are. I mean, how bad is it when we STILL have to worry about Trump getting into the white house? -
I'm tempted to get this, because I am least familiar with Dio-era Dio. I know Rainbow and Black Sabbath era Dio quite well, though. Me, however, rn: https://poil.bandcamp.com/album/poil-ueda Wack good French prog with traditional Japanese vocalist and Biwa player.

Sorry, this guy is just wrong. The smoky/sour/sweet/salty combo of a barbecue chicken pizza with pineapple is magical. And if you want to go crazy with the three-ring-circus-on-your-tastebuds, try adding hot Jalapeño peppers and black olives on top of all that. I had this just the other day. It was sublime. -
Take your time and baby your throat. It's now all irritated and doesn't trust food, air, liquid, etc. Make sure to take slow inhales and fast but not damaging exhales, and let your mucus do it's work (bringing up the last bits out of your lungs). I wish you feel completely better with no side effects soon.

Noice! The analog espresso is the best out of the three I tried (analog, organic, and I forget the third one). It's my favourite store-buyable coffee by far, and not just because it says "black cat" on it. 😺

Cigarettes after Sex. A lot of it. (Dream pop with a slight tint of melancholy)

Did no-one think to use a trebuchet? Or was that against the rules?

Would've liked, other than the ginger-shaming one. -
I recently found out that they are considered portents of war in ancient times:

That's kind of what I was trying to evoke, thank you for picking up on that.

Missed opportunity: "nibbles with Brits"? 🙃

Exactly my reaction to some of his previous work -- a bit too religious, to the point impossible to ignore (Jesus Christ the Exorcist, etc.), but the music's so great, I listen to it anyway.

In the mood for some slowcore? Say no more: Cigarettes After Sex: It's like dreampop, except without the uplift. And maybe less reverb. @VPI-- considering you like Cowboy Junkies, you might like this.

There's an inn in town called Relax Inn that I jokingly refer to as one of four Miles-Davis themed hotel/motel chain. (There's also the Twi-Lite Inn which I jokingly say inspired a book series about vampires, but that's irrelevant...WEEEELL, they bothj are.)
