I would also add the KG SS electrostatic amp (as implemented by Justin), as I have heard that several times now and've been impressed. I have yet to hear an ES-1. I suspect I will be able to shortly after Hirsch receives his. If he lets me. I may have to bribe him. With pretzels.

How does entropy get rid of dead weight? Perhaps I should explain my entropy analogy...nah, you guys don't want to explain fuzziness or pretzelness, I won't explain entropy (although it is pretty self-explanatory if you know what entropy is).
-
(shrug) I told people to contact you, but I didn't tell them to tell you that I sent you, so perhaps you can ask some of those mystery people who invited them if they persist. I'm not going through the process of inviting those people again, because it was kind of a pain, but the people I invited so far are (eyeteeth, perhaps you can help me out -- I basically invited everyone from the freeboards board): Doc Sarvis, bunnyears, KR.../I forget his real name, he might join under another name, paulie, and psmith. And you already let Davey and eyeteeth in.

No, entropy does not mean pretzels. Pretzels > entropy. Entropy bad, pretzels good, kapische? Entropy == brownian motion. Brown == color of shit. Hence, ergo, entropy == bad.
-
We already have that it's called off-topic. And why would you want that? Why would anyone want to contribute to the entropy? I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm the first person to post silliness, but there's the occasional silliness, and then there's entropy.
-
Yes, actually, it does work that way. I made the mistake of taking someone off my ignore list just to read one post by him (on a completely unrelated board), and couldn't put him back on.
-
I stand corrected.

Two questions: 1 - the resistor -- should we get the best one we can afford, or are they all the same? 2 - Is there an acceptable way to do this, besides looking it up in a manual or on the manufacturer's site or something? 2b - isn't this a function of frequency? This site rocks.

He also probably gets laid 2ce a day.

So far, for me, it's Ultraviolet -- most of y'all are going to hate it, but those who will admit to themselves that they enjoy watching a heroine kick some serious ass -- with guns, bullets and looks -- this is for you. Highly stylized looks (it appears that 29 out of every 30 frames have been airbrushed)...terrible CGI (I think Tron was better) -- but again, I think this was on purpose, since it's so consistent -- made to look like a comic book, perhaps?...total over-the-top violence (bullet-dodging)...Milla's naked butt...what's not to like? If you liked films like Equilibrium or Brotherhood of the Wolf, recommended.

Pretzels are like the second-worst food to eat while wearing headphones -- for that reason alone, we need an "other" option. I choose bananas. That said, of the two, the idea of the crisp sourdough coating and the saltine-y insides of a pretzel are much more appealing to me than deep-fried sugar. I'm not saying I wouldn't like the occasional churro -- but I could eat pretzels all day long.
-
Oh, okay. And: awesome!
-
No, that's Head-Fi. I wrote the meat popsicle comment, as well as the sourdough/deepfried comment.

I'm guessing it's because the user decided not to show up as browsing when browsing. That said, I'm wondering how guests post (see, for example, PinkFloyd).
-
Alright, I'm confused, I'm changing one of them, but something to which I thought I changed it got stuck under my moniker...so now it appears I got two, and I can only change one. So I guest the question is, how do it all work again?

So what was your favourite movie of 2005? A couple of mine: Batman Begins Constantine Howl's Moving Castle Mirrormask Sin City Wallace & Gromit in the Curse of the Were-Rabbit ...can't think of any others, but I'm sure I'm forgetting some... I would have said: Appleseed, Steamboy, and Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence, but those are all 2004.

So, I hae a broken pair of DT990's. One of the channels is significantly lower than th'other. Like 18db lower. First of all, for my edification -- what would cause such a thing? I would have guessed a broken connection, but I can still hear the signal, albeit significantly weakened. A short? An almost broken connection? I rule out the latter, because it does not cut in and out. This is all just theory -- I'm not much of a solderer. Secondly, who would be a good person to send to fix it, and perhaps to upgrade it at the same time (new cables)?
-
I'd be up for that, but the closest I saw to a general forum was the off-topic, is that what you mean? And yes, that's fine, I'll post there from now on, when it comes to movies and anime 'n'stuff.
-
I'm trying to think how many 2005 films I saw...17? There were 15 or 16 films better than Crash.
-
Okay, first it was with the fuzziness, now it's pretzels...

You're all full of shit. -
Yeah, I really don't perceive the leatherhead and the PS1 in the same league at all -- the PS1 is in a class by itself, just like the DT770 used to be (until the PS1 came to be). No offense -- hope I didn't offend with my open criticisms, I can be rather blunt that way. It is not whether it is to like or not to like, it is not to know.

Try modding it. I, too, am underwhelmed with the X-CAN (in my case, V2)'s performance, but I once heard a modded X-CANv2 combined with a CD3000 that was just magical. (And it was Hirsch's for a while, so when he refers to that combination, we're referring to the same thing.) I think several people have come to the conclusion that caps are more important than tubes, even.

Thanks for the welcome (assuming that was directed at me).

This poll is defective from the get-go. I do have a preference, but it's not listed: DT770, which isn't as overblown as the PS-1, but it's stronger than anything Sennheiser or Grado can offer. I like to be bludgeoned, but not ravaged.
