  1. I thought the impressions of the lasagna was an obvious redirect. And by mean, I mean funny mean, not  mean.
  2. You guys are mean. You should also mention weather conditions. Yes, there was weather. No, I don't remember what it was. Here it is, for those of you even lazier than I.
  3. Cute, but what are they (company/manufacturer)? I need a black or dark blurple one.

12.99? I paid 13.99...at Tower, no less... ( Well, no, of course go get it as cheap as you can. Just go to amazon.com for the review. )

LOTW == Listen Of The Week -- your favourite recording you listened to in a 7-day period. Mine, easily, is this: Amazon.com link to Le Fil by Camille with a review by me. If you want my impressions of it, read the review.
  6. If you're asking the question, you already know the answer.
  7. Here's the company's information page, if that helps. I wouldn't mind knowing, neither.

No, I think "what" is the correct word there.
  9. New guilty pleasure (for me) -- I was at a wedding last Saturday, and they played Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie" (w/Wyclef Jean). Godam! Am I the only person who appreciates how brilliant it is to combine reggae and latino rhythms? That's genius. Now I need to track down the single, because the version I heard was from that Voices album, and I don't think I need the rest of that claptrap. Is the rest of her material like that? Do I want to track down Oral Fixation Vol. 2?
  10. So I got one of them non-pro Stax adapters off of eBay, but I have pro headphones (with the higher charging voltage, or whatever it's called). Anyone know of a way to change the voltage, besides selling it off and buying the right one? I'm thinking it's just a transformer tap, but I'm also thinking that the tranny that's already in there probably won't deal, so I'm thinking I'm going to have to get a new transformer...which is alright, as I suspect I'm going to want to (a) ground the thing (it currently only has a two-prong power cord); and ( replace the speaker wires with something better. So what I'm saying is, I'm already going to be inside the thing mucking around. So why not just go all out, neh?
  11. US$3600!!!1! I have no words. They are looking for a distribution deal in the US, if anyone knows anyone.
  12. Really? Remind me never to use that particular colloquialism again. mang
  13. I think it's internet-slang for "man", but I'm not sure if there's anything to it beyond that.
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXxUSgYOPew , she strikes me as a bit of a wiseass. The second half of the vid is all interview, so don't expect any music once the one song ends.
  15. So, basically, most of you (well, not you specifically, aerius) voted for the one with the highest "drag coefficient"...? I.E. the least aerodynamic? ...or would it be "aquadynamic"? Or perhaps you just liked her for her "buoyant" personality. :rimshot: Heh-heh, "...sucked out midrange..." indeed...
  16. No, that would still be a two-way if the two midranges are on the same crossover. Oversimplification, but: two-way == one crossover; 3-way == two crossovers. So: 3-way==woofer, mid and tweet; 2-way == tweet and mid/woof. But yeah, basically: two-way == two (different) drivers.
  17. Oh, what do they know...actually, AdamP88 is a good guy and pretty knowledgeable, IIRC. Seems like a pretty constructive thread, so far...
  18. What other people? You mean, these guys?
  19. So taking that to the logical extreme, wouldn't it be best to rip out all the AC power transformers from all your gear and run them directly off the battery? I realize it'd have to be a custom job, but it seems kind of silly to conver it to AC just to convert it back to DC.
  20. Dali has a wide range of speakers, I'm not sure any dip down below US$300, but I think one or two of them come near. Elac -- definitely worth checking out. Mission, I think has some pretty good ones in that range. I'm not sure Totem has anything in the <US$300 range, but if they do, you should definitely put it on your short list. I've heard good things about Scandyna (ex-B&W, I think), their MicroPod is <US$100 each, if you can find a distributor. Dynaudio (my current speaker company of choice) don't make anything that cheap, and even so, I haven't heard good things about their entry level gear (I think I heard that here, too). I think the very entry level speaker from Focal (Chorus 705) might be in that range, but again, that's their very entry level, and I haven't heard it myself, but I like their whole range, so it's worth at least listening to, methinks. Or you could just buy a pair of Visaton B200's and put 'em on a board ("dipole"...no, wait, that's "open baffle") and be done with it. You can think of them as big ol' headphones that you don't have to hang from your head.
  21. All of them are too young for me, but if we're just talking aesthetics, [1-6] inclusive. Besides, I'd have to meet them. Most people, the first impression they make on me is their personality.
  22. I could probably figure it out from this, but could you please just spill the beans and tell me to which tube you are referring?
  23. It was recently, like within the last couple of months. It might have been something they just started experimenting with just before they sold, or right after. And I believe it was only their entry level electrostatic model -- sort of "develop a taste for the electrostatic sound -- your first taste is freecheap...-ish".
