Now playing: Gary Numan, Jagged -- highly recommended to fans of the genre, and of his more recent output (the chunky guitars-and-synths type sound that he's been up to for going on two decades now). I have that. One of the best tributes I've ever heard, IIRC. I remember really liking the whole album -- lot of really strong tracks, and no out-and-out duds. I'll definitely wander on over to CDBaby. Dusty love CDBaby. (And I suspect the feeling is mutual.) Dude. I am all about "resonance". There are some things I just can't explain, and then I just attribute it to resonance. For example, I really dislike most alt.country and slowcore. I just can't get into Low and Mojave 3, for some reason. They just don't resonate with me. However, I love The Devics -- they totally resonate with me. I love Kidneythieves, but it seems that what we have, here, is, "failure to resonate" (with you). You should also check out Dark Muse. I only have Sounds from Beyond the Silver Wheel, but I really like it. Link with mp3's. Looks like it's going to be pretty hard to track down ("permanently out of stock" at CDBaby), but at least listen to the MP3's.

So is at least the subtitling fixed on that one?
-
I have to say: I love Babelfish -- "Ghost in the Shell" gets translated back from the Kanji as "The Vision Right of Shellfish". (And, apparently, the original Kanji for what I thought was "Ghost in the Shell" was "Mobile Armoured Riot Police"...good thing I didn't get that tattoo, neh?)

Alright, so I recently found out that Manga released a dub of this in the UK -- does anyone know if Dreamworks has any plans to negotiate something similar for the US? Or should I just go ahead and get the UK version? Also, according to the Wiki page, if the DVD says "V4" on the spine, then the subtitling is corrected (I.E. it's no longer the closed captioned version). Hirsch, you should do this. Then, you'd at least get the non-intrusive subtitles, for free, no less.

Glad you liked it -- wow, that's two for two, now, and it wasn't even that hearty a recommendation. I'll have to check out St. Eve, never heard of them. Any particular album to start? Did any of y'all know that RevCo had a new album out? And if so, WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?!?!? Cocked and Loaded be its title. Zombie is also about to release Educated Horses.
-
No, he wanted to do it. He saw the title and was sold at that point; in fact, he had something to do with the title being changed back. (Or so the story goes -- do a google on "motherfuckin' snakes on the motherfuckin' plane" or something like that -- I'm too lazy right now.)

OMG, it's real: link with trailer.

Nice pretty pictures. Nice pretty dark pictures. -
Dude, you are completely over-reacting. What a whiney, temper-tantrum-throwing little shit you are. I just lost a whole lot of respect for you. What are you, 12? If I was Rudi, I'd distance myself very far away from you. Hey, I just noticed...this place has a "report post to moderator" link...hahahahahahahahahahaha...why the L do we need that?
-
Yeah, I read that in the write-up (about it being "quad-mono"). sovk -- you shouldn't have felt attacked -- you over-reacted. They were questions, the criticisms were minor. I, for one, would appreciate it if you discussed this amp openly -- it seems, at least on paper, like a cool design. I, for example, know little about Rudistor amps.

Artist: Halou Album: Wiser, or the soon to be released Wholeness & Separation File Under: indietronica Recommended For Fans Of: mellower Lush, poppier Seefeel, Curve, Lamb, et al Artist Website: pretty straightforward, also myspace Sample Listen: new album (see either of the above sites, they're pushing it pretty hard) Music Best For: late night headphone listening My Thoughts: her voice makes my toes curl -- in a good way. I love that "girly" kind of voice. Plus, they write the greatest alterna-pop songs. Note: they're doing a live show in Frisco on 4/1 -- if you're in the area, go, I will envy you. -
Quoth the sovkiller, nevermo...mind. People need to develop thicker skins. Except me, mine's plenty thick.

WTF was that? Cheech and Chong? Zappa? John Waters? Off Broadway? Captain Beefheart? You when you were younger? Black Sabbath before they started worshipping satan? -
For you direct-out fans: the new dCS P8i has (a) balanced outs; ( volume control; © balance control; and (d) voltage control (this is somehow different from volume control, I think). I read the new Stereophile review. I am expecting one of you direct-out knuckleheads to be trying this, soon. C'mon, take one for the team, it's only US$14K.

I asked this question over on H**d-Fi, but I don't know if you saw it -- what particular tube complement did you use to drive the K1000? (And, if you remember my miniscule tube collection) do I have something that can drive the K1000 adequately, do you think? I'll relist my Wheatfield tube collection later, for reference (am at work right now).
-
Very much like a "time out".
-
You mean, girlcase? Girlheadcase? Perhaps we should rename this place sausage-fest-fi.
-
Yeah, but on the other hand, www.audiocircle.com has all sorts of participation from manufacturers.

Artist: Madeleine Peyroux Album: Careless Love File Under: jazz, easy listening Recommended For Fans Of: Billie Holiday, Diana Krall Artist Website: madeleinepeyroux.com Sample Listen: artist website Music Best For: pretending you're a fan of Billie Holiday Reviews: google for it My Thoughts: I don't typically like this genre of music, but something about Madeleine Peyroux really struck something...I don't know, listen for yourself, judge for yourself -

I like this suggestion a lot, and would like to take it one step further -- open shilling. For example, I'm a big Beyer fan, I could post in the open shilling/manufacturer forum about the new "Manufactory" site, and I could do so in there without worrying about being labelled as a street teamer, since I already am admitting to doing so, just by posting in the forum. Would that be okay? Or do we only want "official" members of the company posting in that forum?
