  1. I don't think Sailor Moon had any tentacle sodomy...but I could be wrong...I've never seen it... It just seems...anachronistic-squared, y'know? The whole thing just reeks of absurdity...
  2. Joss Whedon (storytelling genius behind Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Serenity, and Fray), Lindsay Lohan (hollyweird -- sluts snorting coke gone wild, etc.), and anime (you know, cartoons): link. I don't know whether to rejoice or hurl.
  3. I stand by, "you're wrong". We'll just have to "agree to disagree", as it were.
  4. I'm thinking something like this (only, I'm not an artist, so this could be done better -- I just frankensteined two plagiarized pics together). Also, it'd be nice if the straightjacket vaguely resembled a pretzel -- that way, we work the whole pretzel thing in. And the straightjacket should be a lot less detailed -- the detail should match the amount of detail in the headphones. [attachment deleted by admin]
  5. Yeah, but do you have a Guts plushie?
  6. I don't think you judge a speaker's frequency response on its apparent ability to reproduce frequency, I think you should judge it on its actual ability to reproduce frequency -- sorta like not judging a book by its cover. I'm just saying -- I didn't hear anything missing when I had mine. I will tell you it was in a small room, but -- I've also heard floorstanders with less bass. And they went pretty loud (pleasantly so). Those woofers are relatively huge (especially for a non-floorstander) -- about the size of a dinner plate, yes. They're not "bookshelves" per se, as they wouldn't fit on the average bookshelf (also, the port's on the back).
  7. No, that's what I'm saying -- I have a nice sub that went down to 23 Hz or so, and I didn't feel I needed it -- I truly consider it a fullrange speaker, despite it not being a floorstander. I ran it without a sub. But then, I was listening in near field, so...take that into account...
  8. I had a Musical Fidelity A300^CR power amp driving those things, and they weren't suffering in the low bass department at all.
  9. Nice pictures. I especially like this one: I'm not a Prima Luna fan, but you could make me into one.
  10. Believe it or not, there are other hobbies more insane than this one. Microphones, for example -- there are people who collect microphones. This one, for example, is, offhand, the most expensive one I could find in a readily available catalog -- which means there are easily more expensive ones that aren't in the catalog: What else you got?
  11. I have the balanced Max in my list. It overshadows the E.A.R. HP4 by a margin. And I really don't see this thread degenerating much more than that last post. So if you blame anyone, blame yourself.
  12. A pair of cans over a straightjacket would be appropriate.
  13. Do you hate us?
  14. Your momma so fat When I wrote a haiku 'bout her I had to use extra syllables
  15. Nice backpedal there Sausage fact'ry floor sweepings You still crybaby
  16. Actually, I am a fan of lifelessness in audio equipment. That's the one I have. And I still like it. Have you heard any of their other Confidence series? Big difference is the tweeter -- the Confidence tweeters are the Esotar, whereas many of their other models have the Esotec tweeters.
  17. That said, listen to Hirsch -- he knows his tubes. (And caps, for that matter.)
  18. You might want to try some new tubes, like the Golden Dragons. Dry presentation, nice impact, bass comes with burn-in, slight loss in microdetail -- yup, they should fit the bill.
  19. I could be wrong, but this sounds like "dual differential DACs" to me. Yeah, it'll make a difference, but I don't know how much.
  20. MJG insults; Cries when insulted in kind; Not gonna 'pol'gize No, seriously dude, I hope you know that when we trade quips, it's nothing personal. I certainly take it as the humour I'm sure it's intended as, when you call me "sausage" and such. I was just trying to hit lower than "douche bag", perhaps I sunk a little too low, but think of where the bar was set, and who set it.
  21. Actually, it was. Ask anyone who's ever watched a movie with me -- thrice? Hirsch? You...you...douche water waste, you.
  22. Lights off, TV on; Don't notice when shit explodes; but loud when film soft.
  23. Something about a whore and a sailor convention.
  24. In my case, it's purely convenience. There are vids out there, that I enjoy seeing (such as the movie trailers on apple.com) that are in .mov format, and I don't feel like looking for it in another format. Ditto Real. I found something called "Real Alternative" which is great in that it plays real format vids just fine (you can't press stop, though -- you have to re-open the file if you do), but doesn't subsume the computer like RealPlayer does. Now I need to find "Quicktime Alternative". I don't feel like installing software I will never use (iTunes).
  25. Feh. Does it matter? I haven't got that, neither.
