Allow me to tell you a story. There once was a guy, and he had a girlfriend. And he had a "mistress" on the side. Most of us knew. When he left the girlfriend, he didn't start being truly open about the mistress, but started a relationship with another girlfriend. Well, this girlfriend started talking shit about the "mistress" -- tramp, whore, etc. But also just generally mean and bad things. And we were like, no -- I mean, yeah, about the tramp part, that's why he went to her. Because he wasn't getting what he needed from the first girlfriend. But that doesn't make her a bad person. Well, I have since stopped being friend with boyfriend and girlfriend, and am now pretty good friends with "mistress". Do you know what? She's a really nice person. And no, I'm not sleeping with her. She got a little messed up by that (sort of like sleeping with a married man), but she's over it (happily married now, herself -- to someone else). Here's the funny part -- I was surprised to find out she was a nice person. Even though I didn't believe gf#2, she still repeated it enough times that I began to believe it, subconsciously. So, moral of the story? If you repeat something enough times, people will believe it. If you repeat something enough times -- even if it isn't true -- people will believe it. If you repeat something enough times, with enough emphasis, people will believe it. Goebel knew. Hitler knew. It's a war of words, and it has to be fought. The unfortunate part is -- no-one wins.

Mink Oil? I know you use that for nice leather shoes, don't know if you would still use it if it's for a surface that touches one's skin/head.

Dagnabit, I missed it!

Billy, you are so full of shit.

Someone post a link, quick, please -- I need context (as it is, I don't get it).

It's not the cost of the tube that's important. For example, I much prefer EL84's and 6SN7's to 300B's or EL34's...just my tastes.

This girl came on and claimed you were her husband (?!?!?), and that you were cheating on her (I wouldn't cheat on her -- she sounds like a psycho -- I'd fuck her and dump her), but she kept referring to you as "Alex" instead of "Jahn", and that...

Assuming that this headphone sounds as good as I'm imagining it will, this is where I am. -
They have eight-foot retractable latex Satan wings ...

Favourite quotes from the article: "...a former film student who goes by his real name...when not wielding a blood-spurting electric chain saw..." "Often derided as a showcase of kitsch..." "...after coming in last at Eurovision eight times." "Finns are so uncomfortable with themselves...that when they meet someone for the first time, they stare at their own feet. Then, after 10 years of friendship, they stare at the other person's feet." -
link OMG, why am I reading this? It's like 99% drivel! "Hey, who's the guy in the blue shirt?" "Hey, look, a chick!" /closes window

Bear with me: so I get this coupon in the mail, and I flip it over, and it says that it's exempt on, amongst other things, Martin Logan equipment. Martin Logan? Since when did Best Buy start selling Martin Logan equipment?!?!? So I do a little searching around, and it appears they're starting a high-end corner in some of their shops, Magnolia Home Theater. No shit! They also sell McIntosh, Sennheiser, REL, and a bunch of other good shit. Oh, and Bose. What's next? Pigs flying? Cows coming home?

You're all the same height from here, if that's any consolation.

Unholy carp, circumaural Grados? Will wonders never cease. I actually see myself getting a pair of these. My biggest criticism of Grados has always been the comfort issue, and 90% of the comfort issue is their supraauralness (if that's a word). I would still want to try them first. Or maybe just the pads. Those bagel pads and my HP-2's...hmmm...even at US$50, might be worth trying. -

Which is what? -
Lppt -- I hate bleu cheese -- it's just moldy salad dressing that they're trying to pawn off on you. I like the vinagrette that Uno's has -- that's awesome. Paul Newman's is surprisingly good. What is that stuff I have in your fridge, Hirsch, something peppercorn? I like a nice ranch or creamy italian, too.

What are you talking about? Ah don't do shrooms -- you never know when one can cause permanent damage. -
It's Friday. Lets Celebrate With Some Fireworks.
Dusty Chalk replied to blessingx's topic in Off Topic
What was that supposed to be? It ended up being a link to some ultra-lame "ask a ninja" blog thingy. But I really liked that firework-factory-on-fire vid -- though I think what that guy was saying at the end was, "at this point, this explosion killed the photographer. The only reason we got the video is because he was posting it to the internet in realtime..." Let's see if I can that magnesium storage facility fire...meh, can't find it right now, but if you ever hear the words "magnesium storage facility" and "fire" in the same breath, get in your car and start driving in the opposite direction as fast as you can. If you're walking, just give up -- you're dead. The ground rippled. -
(a) Portability; ( convenience; © familiarity; (d) killer interface; ... need I go on? Besides, I think "turd" is overstating things. I doubt you could tell the difference between it and any portable CDP. Note: I don't own one. So don't take this as "defensiveness", I just refuse to agree with that hold "portable == bad" concept.

Wait...what?!?!? QuickTime == iTunes?!?!?

Cool! That's exactly what I was looking for. I knew Apple wouldn't get all Real on me.
