House and his Sota
But we'd have to have at least one discussion as to whether or not any of these make any difference whatsoever. Perhaps Wilson?

House and his Sota
Actually, I think it'd be more in character for him to look around the room, find something, limp over to the person, and then whack them with it. As a tribute to your professor, you could stage the scene in a room with a skeleton in it, and he could take the bone and whack the person with it.

Audio Technica headphone question -- closest to leatherhead?
They shipped last Wednesday (right before the holiday), 5-10-ish days, so best case scenario, I get them this week.

Help purchasing headphones for my mother (closed, K1000?)
I didn't find the DT880 light in the bass at all. Not heavy, neither, but certainly not bass-lite. And I have heard bass with the K501, but that's still probably the direction I will go. Or perhaps one of the "bad" W100's -- anyone have one of those they want to sell me? I've heard those (L, I used to own them), and they might be perfect. I'm not getting her another limited headphone.

why do you put your gear in your signature?
Sounds like Seuss: I put it there for you to read; I put it there, though there's no need; I put it there with a smile on my face; I put it there to put you in your place; I put it there -- that's my sig's role; That's why I put it there, you assfacehole.

The Headcase Stax thread
As a seller, it is fiscally irresponsible to put the buyer at risk of being out both his money and his product. I don't know about you, but I want my buyer to receive his merchandise -- underdeclaring it is just asking for trouble.

Sorry, that was news to me -- I will now bow out of this thread until I can be of service again, since I'm not contributing anything useful.

Needing direction... from experienced people!
Yeah, from your original post, seems like the Ed 9's are your weak link, I would definitely try other headphones.

Yes, we have dual personalities like that.

She slept with me last night. Oh, and I just wanted to commend everyone for avoiding those "that's the closest you're going to get to pussy" and "finally found a female you can keep satisfied, huh?" jokes. Took my coworkers/friends IRL all of 5 seconds to come up with those.

The K501's are a good suggestion when underamped, but they're no longer being made, right? What about the K601's? I didn't know the W5000 was bass-light, I may have to try a pair, now. Thanks for the suggestions, feel free to keep them coming. How about something in the lower end of the Audio-Technica closed line? Maybe I should get a pair of the A500's, after all, since I was talking about getting a pair in that other thread. Worst case, I may have to give her an EQ to get rid of the bass frequencies (they seem to trigger some kind of distortion in her ears). Don't get me started -- that was just before they got discontinued, so I was sure I could get another pair for US$3xx, which is what I paid for the ones I gave her, formerly known as mine. They're pretty much the only ones she could hear anything on. In hindsight, I had no idea how generous I was being. I'm not saying I wouldn't have done it anyway, but if I knew then how long I'd be without a pair, I would have at least slept on it a couple more nights.

Samuels vs Levinson
Really?!?!? I have no idea what this means, when contrasted with the power specifications.

$2,000 Arcam or $200 Oppo + NAD M5 impressions
I would rule out the Musical Fidelity -- it is good entry-level performance, but nowhere near flagship. You should also consider SACDMods-modded Denon universal player such as the 3930 (?designation), or some other familiar modder -- ModWright, perhaps? I've also considered a RAM-(Reference Audio Mods-) modded Oppo, myself.
