  1. Get a nice pair of "opera glasses" (fancy binoculars), and then pick the former.
  2. I would like to hear a pair of the clones. I would also like them to be 10x as good as the Orpheus, and 1/10th the price.
  3. Two blankets (one for my sister) and a pimpin' coat from these people.
  4. Yeah, but neither of those have an optional built-in circular saw.
  5. Just finished: My Organic Market honey-wheat bagel and Kraft Philadelphia Chive & Onion Light Cream Cheese Spread.
  6. Thanks for following up.
  7. I didn't read the description, but I concur with 'daft'.
  8. That thing is huge. Looks like a prop from a Mel Brooks movie.
  9. That cable should do the trick.
  10. I've always loved the symphony. One of my favourite recent memories of the symphony is having my mom surprise me with some cheap tickets we got. We ended up being seated in the choir section, on the other side of the orchestra. It was actually kind of wonderful to (a) be able to see up close and from about one story up, and ( be able to actually watch the conducter, and not just the back of his head, and © not to have to sing (I did used to be in a choir). Another was to see Andre Watts play Saint-Saens' 2nd Piano Concerto -- the first time I heard it, and it has since become one of my favourite pieces, and his interpretation is my favourite. For free (won a pair of tickets from the company I worked for at the time). I still have a fantasy of seeing Hilary Hahn live, as she's my favourite living violinist, and she's relatively local here, so apparently plays often (and she's easy on the eyes as well -- a bit too young for me, but hey...it's just a fantasy).
  11. I think he's a Rolex man, but that wouldn't be digital. If you want to get a nice watch for <US$500, I've been told to get a Nixon, and I have to admit, the next nice watch I get will probably be a Nixon. They have both digital and analog.
  12. Thanks, yes, that did the trick. Farther back for me than for others -- not just to my time on the board, but to my time on the board before I figured out how to turn avatars off.
  13. No, it's just that (a) that "competitive" aggression is contagious, and I don't like getting elbowed, or that bad feeling I get later when I realized I elbowed someone else after I come down from my "shopping rage", and ( I don't own any armor.
  14. That Zanden looks hot. (No comments about its phallicity and my questionable sexual deviance -- I'll just pretend they're uber-nipples.) The Wavelength is cute, too. And thanks for the info on the APL -- sounds like it should be some good stuff. I'll try to find a way to audition it some time in the future.
  15. "...monkey mod..."? Which one is that?
  16. Just pretend you're having a rave. Every night. At your home. With just you (and your family).
  17. Jesus, someone modded a UX-1? Are there details about this?
  18. If you pee around your balcony, you will have marked your territory. Make sure to have had lots of red meat recently -- hamburger, steak, etc. -- usually about 24 hours prior to the peeing. (Or, if you're shy, pee in a cup, then drizzle from the cup.)
  19. Some of the Kenwoods have defeatable compression output, which was like the holy grail of pcdp's there for a while.
  20. Just watched Severance and Dr. Strangelove or how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb. Both ended with the same song. Both were enjoyable. Severance is one of those horror/comedies that gets it right -- it's not too silly (which, for example, Dead and Breakfast got distractingly so) to undermine the horror of the situation, and not too horrific that you couldn't laugh at the silly moments. Thumbs up from me. And Dr. Strangelove is just a classic.
  21. But I thought that you thought that Speakers >>> Headphones, man! WTFOMGBBQSauce.
  22. Kenwood had some decent PCDP's in recent years...but yeah, good luck with that. I can't even find them on the audiocubes site any more.
  23. I liked it enough to subscribe to it at one point. When I saw it on a newsstand the other day, I realized I had let my subscription lapse. I think I will resubscribe, myself. It's kind of skinny for the price, and all the prices and local ads are Canadian-oriented, and they have an affiliation with a couple companies, but I like the fact that most reviews are by multiple people.
  24. Someone from Team Audio Technica should get these -- hey, Jacob, you like speakers...
