Liqour or Beer???
Who knows what's in that brown bag.

RSA Predator
I was using hyperbole -- actually, there were many times that I've not jumped down your throat.
-
Post what you're watching
At least: last episode of season 1; first episode of season 2. Not that I'm keeping track, it's just that those are the last two episodes I watched, so it's fairly easy to remember.
-
Post the last thing you bought!
negative one pair of shoes (I returned them)

Post what you're watching
Actually, there's been some Alma Garret naked in Deadwood, which I have to admit to enjoying, despite her taking all her black clothing off.

You lost me right there. Shouldn't that be "...heard..."? You lost me as well. I'll be the first to admit that the G08 does not sound good in every system, and I understand people wanting it to sound good in every system for that price (I certainly would), but I have heard it sound very good -- one of the top 10 best sources I've ever heard -- in the right system.

CD storage ideas!
I can't find any pics right now, but I just use corrugated cardboard storage boxes -- the kind they give you when you move offices. The one I have in front of me is 22x15x12, comes from a single piece of cardboard that folds in a funky way so that the floor is reinforced by flaps that are held by the handles. 3 rows on the bottom, 2 rows on top, and any oddball boxsets fit nicely in that middle section between the handles. If you don't mind your fingers getting crowded when you grab the handles, you could probably squeeze 3 rows on top as well.

Recommend me a USB soundcard suitable for needledrops
What'choo need 16 channels for? Turntables are usually 2 channel, 4 at most.

Cambridge Audio 840c Impressions and Comparisons
My big thing of late has been transients -- do well-recorded transients pop out as they should, or are they smoothed over? Because they seem to translate to the player's prat pretty well.

Full size speaker help
Care to recap, what is your shortlist as of now? I still need to hear the Acoustic Zen Adagios myself. I'd also go looking at some Aurum Cantus full rangers. And don't forget those ones that tkam ended up buying.

Rhapsody Users?
story In a word, DRM (well, acronym).

Warner goes Blu-Ray exclusive
Gives new meaning to "universal" player. Although this will not likely last long -- sure looks like it's over.

Why so many question marks, are you confused?

Don't worry about it, it was a rhetorical question.- The Senn Rumors
So, grawk...would that be an example of hyperbole without inflammatory intent?- RSA Predator
Only if the difference is as large as some claim. But if you (as a side effect of choosing a cheap soundcard) limit the experiment, you'll only have proved anything if you hear a difference; if you don't hear a difference, one can always blame the limitations of the experiment scenario -- this happens in "real life" science as well as arguments on bulletin boards. It's called "experimental error", and in order for an experiment to have interpretable results, your standard deviation must be well within your ability to account for it. There are plenty of websites to put it up: MediaFire, YouSendIt, zShare, SendSpace.- The Senn Rumors
Ooooo...black headphones... I disagree that they're a disappointment -- I mean, they're from Monster Cable, so expectations won't be high.- Post what you're watching
Which 'that'? There were several death by carrot scenes. Not that it matters, the answer is still, 'no'. I told you: suspension of disbelief. Oh, and yes, I enjoyed the take it apart, dry it off, and put it back together scene. As well as the conveyer belt scene, the violence while having sex scene, the "key" he used to get into his squat, the whole "remote control by ropes" scene...oh, who am I kidding, I loved that whole movie. So, did you enjoy it? I think all three of us (Hirsch, myself, and Hirsch's and my friend Linda) enjoyed it. I think we all appreciated it for its silliness, because we were all laughing out loud.- k701, dt880, or stax?
Yup, pretty much. No, seriously -- I don't know shit about soundstage on headphones, that's why I didn't post thatwise, but the day/night/week/month is still young -- I'm sure someone with actual knowledge will come along and post eventually, I didn't mean to derail the entire thread, thought it'd be more like a free bump. I've always liked the separation on my HP-2's, and separation is one component of good soundstage, but that was well out of the specified pricerange. Ditto most Stax's and R10's.- taboo
Pfff. I like his curmudgeonly writing style -- like several people here -- as well as his unabashed love of things like the LS3/5a and Quads.- The Headcase pico Lovefest: Post your impressions here
Well, if you hadn't mentioned it, no-one would probably've noticed, but alas, now that you've drawn attention to it...just tell them that it was an honest mistake.- taboo
Plus Ken Kessler writes for them, and I <3 him.- k701, dt880, or stax?
