I didn't realize, but I just finished watching Season 1 of Deadwood last night. God damn. I don't know if it's the "best show evar!!!1!", but goddamn, it's a good show. No, wait, let me try that again, ...but goddamn, it's a good fucking show. That last episode was killer. The silent exchange between Trixie and Al just totally slayed me. A lot more to it than that, too. The fact that Al killed two people, and you ended up at least empathizing with him on both counts, if not completely sympathizing with him ("bag of shit") is definitely a score for the writers. And then they toy with your emotions with the whole Jewel's boots storyline.

Sony never dropped their licensing for SACD, making it not financially feasible for most non-Sony companies to develop a universal player. So as far as I'm concerned, Sony sabotaged that effort. It never became de rigueur to make a universal player, which is what really needs to happen to eliminate the confusion aspect. It's still early enough in the HD-DVD/Blu-Ray debacle to overcome that obstacle.

I'm not sure I agree with this. I agree that it could be confusing, but it could just as easily be solved by making universal players, then people wouldn't care.

I just ordered a couple of cases of Fast Lane Tea -- it has more caffeine than regular drip coffee, although less than an espresso. Admittedly, that's the exception, not the rule. You're right, most black teas are a small fraction of the caffeine of most coffees. But I still think Dan's idea is a good one for most people -- ween yourself down to one cup a day, then switch to tea or 50%, then quit completely. The headaches usually only last two weeks, right? (And by that, I mean not continuously, I mean on and off.)

Well, just thinking out loud without doing any actual research, doesn't the iPod dock access the internal data from the iPod digitally? Why couldn't they just mimic what it does?
