  1. I think he was happy, see him rolling around on the floor?

    New Cat

5 little furballs, sitting in a row, P-I-A-N-I-ssimo, One realizes it's hungry, starts to mewl, the next thing you know, you wish you had a gun. J/K...cute as buttons, all 5 of them. I'd go for the far right, guy, too, he seems like my type (just from the one picture, things'd probably be different if I actually met them).

    Shaun the Sheep

Never heard of it, but I'm a huge fan of Aardman Animations, so will have to check it out. Thanks for mentioning it.
  4. Black goes with anything. Except Navy blue.
  5. I got mine, too. Thanks! (need to try it with my L3000)
  6. Don't say that!!!1!
  7. Club Dead, Charlaine Harris
  8. Happy Birthday! Do bad things to key lime pie waitresses.* *Euphemisms, again.
  9. Wheatfield. Or the Wheatfield redesign that HeadRoom is supposedly coming out with in the next year or so.
  10. Yeah, I think that's what he meant, he was just phrasing it badly. I mean, obviously he didn't mean that "...you're not actually supposed to use the battery power...", ever, even though that's exactly what he said.
  11. Somewhere around 2/14 These are not rules of thumb, these are MHO's: plate == base of speaker -- I don't like overhang, because it seems less stable, but neither do I like the plate to be bigger -- the speaker baffle should not have any additional reflecting surfaces right there. Construction == should be stable, inert, etc. (seems rather intuitive, not sure what you're looking for here). Shouldn't ring -- basically, same rules as would apply to the speaker cabinet. I like three legs (as opposed to one, two, or four, etc.). Most of the magazine writers swear by sand-fillable. I don't, but that's me.
  12. Tweeters --> ears
  13. I like that this thread got sticky'd by disassociation.
  14. He is so great. I think I have all his albums.
  15. Try using your system without them, and tell me you don't hear a difference.
  16. No, that's right, I'm not sure what issue DC has with your statement, I wish he would be more specific.
  17. I've heard some Dali's -- they would definitely be on my short list. I would also include Focal (formerly JM Lab), Aurum Cantus, Quad L series (or L2). You might be able to get Gallo Reference 3.1's or whatnot within that price range. $1400 takes up too much of your budget, methinks, but if you're alright with that, those Ikon 7's definitely look like something I wouldn't mind owning. For amps, despite their ubiquity, I would definitely recommend Musical Fidelity. A3^CR/A3cr, A3.2, A308, or A5 (I think I may be straying outside your budget with those last two). I'm not as fond of the A3.5, from what I've heard.

  20. 2 Sammies from Quizno's -- balsamic chicken one and the black angus steak one and a cookie (oatmeal [FOTM!] raisin) FTW
  21. I haven't had a haircut in years. Hippie, aye.
  22. Actually, Hirsch would probably help you out -- he knows how to do it right. He has like 3 or 4 turntable setups, and even the cheesiest one sounds pretty damn good. Setup is to vinyl what room treatment is to speakers.
  23. Nice! I like that triple. Good work, Steve.
  24. The cat expresses that feeling you felt when you went to the proctologist.
