  1. I like your thinking. And I can do that. EDIT: I should also bring some trash can lids and some metal folding chairs and some drills and hammers and nail guns and a compressed air gun.

He makes "fuck yeah" movies, so yeah, totally, unabashedly, unashamedly, fanboy.
  3. No, it's the one where Buffy and Angel lock themselves in a hotel room for a weekend and play Scrabble for 72 hours straight.

    Yuppers.
  5. This is the best way to watch it. Some of the crossovers consist of a character leaving the show at the end of Buffy, appearing on Angel, and then disappearing, in time to reappear on Buffy by the next episode. You have to watch carefully, though. The one towards the beginning of Buffy s06/Angel s03 when he finds out she's been resurrected is particularly clever. My favorite is "Fool for Love" (Buffy)/"Darla" (Angel).
  6. No, I remember your post, but at that point, I was still under the impression that it was never coming out, so I just assumed that it was Amazon packaging the 5 boxsets together, not an actual, legitimate boxset. I missed the word "boxset", I think, as I don't remember you phrasing it that way.
  7. I've been meaning to visit there...

I love that commercial. Total Michael Bay fanboy here.
  9. Aye. When the L did that Angel boxset come out? I've been pissed off that it didn't appear to be coming out ever, and then it gets put out like months ago (10/07, according to Amazon)? Why didn't anybody tell me? And here I am with a $25 Visa giftcard burning a hole in my pocket. Thanks for the heads up on it being on sale, Stephen!
  10. A case of honey (no, I'm not making mead -- I just use a lot of honey, and it looks like Bloom stopped carrying mine).
  11. Are you talking new? And I presume you mean audiocubes street?

It's a reference to this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=8wisKhDrjoQ ...and of course, I got the quote wrong, it's, "I want to play a game", not "do you want to play a game?"

  15. Hard drives are like long-term memory.
  16. We just had a chop't open by us, and it's quite good. Vicki -- you'd be in heaven. About half the menu is just vegetables. I'm going to have to go back there and try a whole bunch of different things -- I am just finishing up a Monterey Salad Samich with the Tex-Mes Ranch dressing. The lettuce is nice 'n' crispy. The olives looked good, too, but I didn't see them in time to order them. I'm going to have to see if I can order a fake Olive Garden salad (Iceberg and Romaine lettuces, olives, cherry tomatos...I forget what else -- I usually have them skip the pickled peppers and croutons, if I remember -- and a vinaigrette dressing).
  17. Yeah, me too! (First time I saw the list, myself; I was looking for a more comprehensive list.)
  18. So out of that list, the only one you hadn't heard was Y: The Last Man? I'm actually not terribly up on comics, so I don't know offhand which of those it rules out.
  19. You should set up a wiki server on your internal LAN instead.
  20. Sounds like an oxymoron -- how can it be hell if I'm laughing my ass off?
  21. http://www.dccomics.com/sites/essential30/ From this list: All Frank Miller Batman stuff (I've only read Year One and DKR, but both are excellent -- but then again, I'm of the mind that Frank Miller can do no wrong, including Ronin and Robocop). Grant Morrison & Dave McKean, Arkham Asylum is especially fun because it comes with the script, so you can see just how much Dave McKean contributed to it. Neil Gaiman, Sandman the entire series is probably my favorite comic ever, I've been getting the Absolute editions. I've enjoyed what I've read of Ex Machina (which is up to vol. 5 or 6 of the trades), it's a really good anti-super-hero comic. I just bought Watchmen. Y: The Last Man is amazing, and not just because of all the lesbians.

Aw, hell yeah, that was very cool! I have a few issues with it (e.g. there are certain distortions that require polyphonic input to work -- but this is a very guitar-centric criticism), but I thought it was excellent execution and the premise is brilliant.

  24. How about a wafer thin mint?
