  1. What's wrong with that? Phrased a bit crudely, but ... you know ... it's not like anyone gets to dictate what headphones you buy, how is this any different?
  2. I'm pretty sure that's PVC -- what makes you think he's made from polycarbonate? EDIT: No, I think you're right, I think that's polycarbonate, I stand corrected.
  3. I'm thinking someone has a serious John Waters fetish.
  4. You know, I keep accidentally clicking on it myself.
  5. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. That sort of talk is par for the course on most metal forums.
  6. That's pretty much it in a nutshell. They'll improve a system if you put it between two components that aren't well impedance-matched -- as long as the "additional component in the chain" problem doesn't kick in, but in anything else, they'll be ...well... an additional component in a chain, which can only take away from clarity.

$200 or so is probably fine. Did I just jump to the front of the line? I thought I was third or something. Gah.

I should probably get that pair for my mom. Let me know if the other deal(s) doesn't(/don't) work out.
  9. Too. I haven't bought the purple ones yet. I'm going to finish paying for the PS-1's, first. And I wish my cat would quit puking on them. She puked on a suede pair the other day, that shit does not come out. I'm going to start calling her Keira Knightley (after her character in The Hole, whose name I forget...okay, just looked it up, it's "Frances 'Frankie' Almond Smith" -- I'm not calling my cat Frankie).
  10. Blue Oyster Cult! Actually, I hate most candidates also (I wish Ron Paul had a chance). Doesn't mean I'm not going to vote for the lesser of two evils, but doesn't mean I can't call a spade a spade -- it'll be the lesser of two evils that I'll be voting for, nothing more.
  11. New Balance 595's -- all black, some shiny some suede. There was exactly one pair left at Rack Room Shoes in the clearance section, and I was pretty surprised that they were in my size and fit. And some more buttons. I have some sorting to do. I need to get one of them containers that has lots of small compartments.

Actually, I am of the opinion that in the HD600's case, cable upgrade is practically required. It's that dramatic.
  13. Bunch of buttons Yet another pair of shoes (only one pair, though, despite having been in at least 5 stores that sold shoes) some candy a couple sacd's Goldfrapp, Seventh Tree, special edition At CompUSA -- nuthin'. They had a bunch of laptops. but they weren't discounting them anything special, as far as I could tell. They did have quite a bit of memory, and a big display for US$10 that probably could have acted as Elephas' or spritzer's headphone rack, but I don't need that much, so I passed. Need to check two computers here to see what kind of memory they take, going back tomorrow.
  14. No time like the present...(to get started)...
  15. You know, (Walt) Disney tried cryo-treating his head, look where it got him.
  16. Network traffic bloat. (I.E. crap on the line). I mean, if you really want to diagnose it, I'd see if Mac has some equivalent program to tracert (or ping) to see what kind of throughput you have to his computer, or vice versa.
  17. Why does he have a Greek shirt on? He's too young to be in college, isn't he?
