We need more detail. This isn't a "for" or "against" proposition -- we just want to know if it really is anywhere near as radical a change as going from the D5000 to the R10. Have you ever heard the R10? How much detail does the modded D5000 yield? Is it better than psychoactive drugs? Oh, and welcome to headcase, sorry about your mama.

Canjam 08 Meet Impressions
Are you at CanJam? So go listen to these supposed holy grail R10 phones with bass and tell me if they have more or less bass than how much bass you remember the DT990 having. Stop telling me it has bass, and start telling me how much bass it has (less than the K501, but more than the K1000, that sort of thing), then I'll start believing you.

Why does burn-in only ever improve things?
Ah. I don't watch enough Family Guy to have gotten that.

How big do you think these caps are?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the whole paradigm is different -- using caps is like using memory that doesn't last from reboot to reboot, so they'll have to be charged up every time the car is run? Unless they use relays or something that guarantees that there is zero leakage current going through when the car is at rest/powered off?

Headphone Recommendation: Closed, Bass-Light, Velour Pads
R10's, replace the lambskin with velour pads.

"Bass heavy R10's" "Bassy" -- what is this shit? I realize I'm being pedantic, but the correct terminology is "bass-light" and "less bass-light". I bet even the Beyer DT990 has more bass. Heck, I bet the Spendor S3/5 speakers formerly known as mine have more bass than the "less bass-light" versions of the R10's.

x2. When you get to the level of equipment wherein burning really matters, you're also getting into the realm of gear that is not really "better" than other gear, but rather "more to one's liking". This will usually lead to improvements as a result of burn-in on well-designed gear (as they finish settling to how they're supposed to sound), but not necessarily.- Tell me about your Home Theater Setup
A friend of mine has Gallo Reference 3.1's for front left and right, I think that's a perfect solution for the "single person sweetspot" problem. They retail at US$3K. Definitely get that woofer amp.- Denon AH-D2000--big disappointment.
Do those have serial numbers? Is there any way that you know what yours were before the sale? Two sets of phones == potential for a swap, in my mind. And you have an obligation to state feedback, even if it's not entirely negative, that's the whole point of feedback. The "super power caps" that Nissan is going to be using in their upcoming hybrid electric diesel cars that they'll be using instead of batteries.- Post Your Pet
No, I wasn't trying to get you to qualify your statement every time you said it, please don't worry about that. In fact, I forgot I said it until I did what I did last time, which was to mentally rename her "sonofabitch" (SOO-kin sin) or "bitch" (SOO-ka) in Russian, and then remembered that I had had that thought before. I think. Either that, or it was just deja vu all over again. No, I wouldn't really. When I had two online pets that I could name myself (the first time I've ever named a pet of any sort), I called them "Turquoise" and "Glass". (They've probably since "died" from lack of being fed or given any attention.) But yeah, it might be fun to name them something weird in a non-native tongue. Like naming a black cat "whitey" in Arabic or a small squat dog "giraffe" in Chinese or something. I think you meant Lady Wilhelmina Fluffy Bottoms III. And: no, that wouldn't be a tough call at all. "Koshka", it is.- slow forum
