Raining pretty hard here at the moment. I know the Fountainhead MTB ribbon cutting / MORE picnic has already announced trails there are closed this weekend.

Colin will be the anchor. He will be on my R5 with flat pedals.

So you don't want to come down to Silver Spring for a road ride on Saturday Dan. It is really not a difficult ride and we take it pretty leisurely. Who would be up for a Rock Creek Park ride Saturday 9:30-10:00ish?

Maybe it will be possible to do MTB on Sunday and road bike on Saturday. Not sure if the trails might dry with the sunny Saturday that is projected or now.

Stupid rain. I might just stay home all weekend and watch the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

I am holding out for MTB on Saturday. If not then I guess it is just the boring road ride on Sunday.

I already have two sets of NV, I had no dynamos and I only like stuff that is shiny and new.

At this point I think it is happening, but that depends on how we are after the MTB excursion I guess. Got to try out the lights tonight. Brighter than I had expected and after a short ride the lights are able to stay lit up for a good ten minutes which will be helpful at stop lights and signs. The install turned out nicely outside of brake cables getting in the way of some of the beam.

We are talking about doing an early Rock Creek Park road bike ride on Sunday as well.

Road should be easy but I think Colin is trying to decide between a full suspension or a carbon fiber HT from Big Wheel for the Saturday MTB ride.

Any of the local guys know the best place to rent a MTB for Colin? Big Wheel Bikes seems to be about the best I have found.

Makes sense, the extra weight is something the WFO definitely does not need. The new XC style droppers coming are supposedly about 100 grams lighter than the current crop of posts but still pretty damn heavy.

I was actually told to wait a bit as the new variants will be released soon from at least Rock Shox and Specialized.

Any from the HC Cycling Team using a dropper seat post yet? Thinking about adding one to the WFO.

This might even be a Brent qualified trail.

Schaeffer is not technical at all. A couple of creek crossings is about all I remember. On long steep climb that you can skip. Might be something technical on the other side of that hill but we never bothered trying to climb it.
