Movement looks to be very impressive for the price. The looks are okay but a 70 hour Power Reserve, Certified movement in a Pelagos would be hard to pass up.
I got into pens when my office was right next to Art Brown's in NYC, which now seems to be closed. I have a lot of Montegrappa, Visconti, ST Dupont but my favorite is a restored vintage Parker 51 from Art Brown's which is awesome. I just do not bother with any pens anymore.
Chris, I have a large collection of Noodlers, ST DuPont, J Herbin, Swisher and Visconti ink I do not use if you want to try out some others.
With all the new FP people here I should throw up my collection for sale. That is if I can find them.
Spent the afternoon at Aardvark Baguette's house listening to his nearing finished setup. Took a camera to take pictures of the system but spent to much time in the listening chair to get the camera out. Sounded excellent with everything I put through it.
Was there for another of Chris' patent pending "Deal of the Century Sales" at which I picked up the Hyper Spike rack for my work system and all the Dusty approved purple power cords needed to power the gear for about the price of the original sales tax on the rack.
I got to see both the Pelagos and the Black Bay today. In all honesty, I think the Pelagos build is up there with my Rolex Sea Dweller and I would definitely own one of those. The Black Bay was nice but did not really impress me nearly as much and it appears to plummet in value so quickly after purchase. I have seen several less than year old going for around $2k.
I did actually really like a Chopard Monaco Historique that I looked at today. All in house from the movement to the really overbuilt Ti case.
Yeah, it is a 46 and it wears BIG. I have been trying to wear more of my tiny little 40ish watches Sea Dweller and Seamaster as my wrists are a hell of a lot smaller than the last time I really bought watches and I think 40 makes more sense now. This 46 seems pretty huge and unwieldy at this point.
Went to a nice shop over at the mall and the Omega Boutique tonight. Lots of things I need to buy, including a pair of Dark Side and Gray Side of the Moon Speedmasters.
Yeah I know. I went to a recommended place here locally and they had nothing but Rolex. Evidently there is a place at the high end mall that I can find Blancpain and Panerai.
Can't find any of my watch tools anywhere to size this giant mesh or put on the crocodile deployant.
I did however find some Panerai and Bell & Ross accessories to take out to Al in June though.
Got sick of being the only person on HC not buying watches lately.
Went out looking for a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms or a Tudor Black Bay Blue but found neither. Ended up with another Superocean. Got the mesh and the gator with deployant clasps.
