  1. I see what you are saying. My more pressing problem now is figuring out how to trim both tops to the same length. The shitty gravity stand for the Bosch will not support the tops for a straight cut so I either have to do it with the track saw and make cuts from both sides or build a temporary saw horse set up to support the tops while the shitty mitre saw cuts the ends. Alternatively, trying to track down someone local with a real mitre saw station.
  2. Trying to decide if I go all walnut for the bottom ship lap shelf or incorporate the Jatoba, maple and walnut from the top. Also got the final glue-ups of the top done so now only one more time wrestling them through the planer.
  3. Happy Birthday Al.
  4. I assume that was after one of the 7,000 morphine pills required after your back went out. Did not know those pills worked so well for hair growth.
  5. Naaman, not sure how you managed this with the 8’ slabs from the Roubo. This bitch is getting heavy to run through the machinery with my little 66” slabs.
  6. If you want to try HF, I have not had any issues with the Bremen parallel clamps from them. They are around $35 I think You can also watch for the Lowe’s sale for the 24” cabinet masters for $28 which I think is a steal as they are quite good.
  7. Special friend price, 98 pennies on the dollar. This is just a Naaman price; don’t tell my other customers. I actually have the whole setup with the special red knobs up on FB marketplace for $600 and zero interest.
  8. Yeah, scrapped the Roubo bench a long time ago. All the Roubo vices gather dust in the corner, hence all the Twin Turbo vices. Going simple Hybrid with 3/4” round dogs, so much easier and much easier to get the length I need without a billion calculations to take the 87” Roubo down to 66”.
  9. I have gotten close to running out several times. I am actually preferring the Jorgensen Cabinet Masters to the Besseys and the Woodpeckers in this build. Decided the cool racing stripe in the middle of the bench was worth wasting the pretty board. Also ordered a full set of his magnetic Jatoba dogs to put in the bench since this may be Jatoba, and the sale is perfect timing.
  10. I am intrigued by his little secret screw system and his magnetic bench dogs for the current bench as I have not drilled dog holes yet.
  11. Based upon photos I guess it could be any of those but I am almost positive it was from Brazil as I seem to recall seeing that when I picked it up. Might be too nice to waste on the gap stop for the bench as it cleans up very nicely. Also, if anyone is interested in the twin turbo vice or any of his other stuff he is having a secret 20% off sale. If you need the code let me know.
  12. Any educated guesses on wood type? Seems about the same weight as walnut but not sure when it came here or what it is. Thinking about laminating it to the walnut for my gap stop.
  13. Got the infinity Tools setup as I needed some Colliflower inserts and the big Wixey gauge for the planer from them anyway. The instructions from the inventor tap the wood directly as he taps all the attachment points on these vices, including the ones into the bench.
  14. The blast gates open and close fine as is, this is what I would have to do to make the Oneida turn on whenever a tool turns on. I found out I would actually have to do double this because of the two trunk lines I am running. About 800 to not have to use the crappy Oneida remote. Does anyone have a go to drill thread tap for threading in wood. Need a 5/16” one to mount the twin turbo vices and not sure if there is a HC approved model.
  15. Evidently to make the iVac work with Oneida I have to buy double devices and another shitty Oneida remote. How is this not easier to implement, is it because they are Canadian ?
  16. Got 4 new power supplies for the iVac blast gates and instructions to ground the blast gates. All larger bricks and ac/ac unlike the originals I guess.
  17. Yep, just have to figure out how the son of a bitch works. Off to YouTube University.
  18. My Milwaukee holder needs about 4 more slots now so I am going to have to rebuild. The new Veritas shoulder plane is going to get some work as the SawStop dado blades did not give me fantastic shoulders on my tenons.
  19. All the mortises are cut so beginning the tenon process tonight. Also got the back, ugly half, of the bench top glued up except for the Birds Eye maple that will be the visible side the bench top.
  20. Today’s maple.
  21. Just massive tension in the boards. Maybe not dried properly. The board will actually twist mid cut and bind up everything.
  22. Wiring the service for 20amp or just changing the outlet? I am about beat and beaten down by milling maple that twists back as soon as you cut it to size after running all 87k lbs of it through the jointer and planer. Might take the rest to the lumber guy and pay him to run it through this big machines.
  23. Pretty fancy. What is the conversion cable for on the power cord? I am thinking the board will end up being about 1/4” after I get all of this twist out.
  24. Happy Birthday Nate!!
  25. Andrew Klein. He also made a cool app for confirming bandsaw blade tension by tone and a crazy invisible screw thingy. Fucking piece of shit Bosch mitre saw is giving me some massively out of square end cuts on the legs. If I had the room I would go buy something else and build a mitre saw station instead of this bench. Between the loose lock downs and the worst designed stop block in the world, this thing is about five minutes from going in the lake. Now going to try to further calibrate this thing as my delve square shows the blade is pretty square to the table and the fence.
