  1. Went to put the bike into winter storage and saw this sweet classic w/ sidecar being put in. Had to take a few shots of mine, before luggage and crash bars are added in storage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Lamb Cassoulet at a new local place. Awesome. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Al, do you participate in any of the BMWMOA events? Looks like there is one in Wisconsin next year and I am told riding in Wisconsin is some of the best in America, for some reason.
  4. Thread resurrection. Seems like winter time is the perfect time to discuss all the cool stuff I need to buy to get prepared for March-April. Looking at riding gear. Seems like Klim is the high end, non-Brent line, for touring jackets, etc. Not sure how they could be worth $1600 for a coat when so many of the others are in the 400-600 range. Better construction I assume with a touch of name brand douchy upcharge? I got all of the BMW luggage and the Ver 6 GPS with the bike as well as some crash protection for the cylinder heads. So what great things should I be shopping for while I await the stupid snow to go away?
  5. My motorcycle buddy rides the 1200RS and loves it and it is always a possibility. I am holding out for next weekend as the BMW shop is doing a big demo day with specials but they only have one GS and no RS to test ride if you just walk into the store outside of their demo day. I rode the Multistrada and it had the worst throttle, by far, of any bike I tried. It was a strange off and on drive by wire that made slow parking lot kind of riding very difficult.
  6. I wanted to try it but the closest one is in Winsconsin and while it is a good overall bike, it is slower and more top heavy like a adventure bike where this is more of a Sport Touring. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I guess Brent level is kind of harsh. Probably 4-5 Brent cars in value. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Rode the Yamaha FJ-09 and found it to be a sports bike that was tall and had bags. So much more fun to ride than everything else I have tried. Now I just need to decide if the elitist in me can settle for such a Brent level bike. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Congrats Jacob. I was on campus doing some training for their staff a few weeks ago. Seemed like a decent town.
  10. Yeah, not a fan of the looks, but the reliability seems to be a plus. Trying to find someone that has the Kawasaki KLZ1000 Versys and the Yamaha FJ-09 to try to check out the rest of the Japanese bargains.
  11. Rode another strange one today. Cold as hell but a motorcycle with Dual Clutch transmission and trigger shifting is kind of interesting. Seemed like a pretty good deal at the much lower starting price than the BMWs and Triumphs of the world. Less comfort tech like heated seats, etc. but seemed like a good all around bike.

    You should check again Peter.
  13. It's amazing just how happy everyone in Chattahoochee is that you are leaving Brent. Well, not really amazing, maybe understood is a better word.
  14. Happy Birthday Tom.
  15. Got bored so I decided to try some more motorcycles. Even rode a Moto Guzzi to see how Ken lives. It was a lot of fun but that crazy engine made the leg room a little uncomfortable, could make for sore legs on longer rides.
  16. They are making me a pretty tempting offer on the 2017 Tiger 1200. Triumph is throwing in the full hard case set, a $1400 value and low interest and no payments until April if I take one of the 2017s instead of waiting for the 2018. Thinking this one might end up in my garage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Why does it not have a bedazzled CHAMPION on the back?
  18. Happy Birthday Gene
  19. Yep. This shop only had Ducati, Triumph, KTM, Norton, Motus and Moto Guzzi. I am definitely interested in the BImmers as an option, though I assume they are like the cars and are overpriced for what they are. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. ^^Pics of the jacket??? I spent the afternoon testing out various types of motorcycles. Need to settle on exactly what type of bike I want to start with so tried out a bunch of different brands and types of bike. Mostly focused on the Adventure bikes as I thought they are the most practical. The main issue I had with them is they are really tall but seem to handle fine. Tried the Ducati which seemed to have all the right tech and was sportier than the Triumph Tiger which is at the top of my list so far. Then the 2017 Tiger 1200. The new model will not be in stock until March and is a big improvement on these, in tech, engine, etc. Like the looks of these a lot but it is even higher than the Ducati. Not as sporty feeling as the Ducati either but more comfortable. Then I tried something in a different class, the KTM 1290 Super Duke. Really fun to ride but not as useful for road trips, etc. Ran out of time so did not get to try any of the cruiser type bikes, but that should happen this weekend. I did however take part in my favorite part of starting a new hobby, buying shit.

  22. Happy Birthday Bryan.
  23. Very nice. If only I had the ability to keep a vintage bike on the road. It was funny, just this weekend I was at WeatherTech factory store and the Vincent bike they have on display there was leaking quite a bit of oil.
  24. I am a big fan of the look and it feels good sitting on the bike, but I have heard the suspension is a bit too racy for me. The Bonnevilles are really nice but I was most impressed with the giant Tiger 1200 adventure bike. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
