  1. Since you screwed this up so much, I recommend you just throw it all away and start over. Just consider this a practice run. Also, on an unrelated subject, I am doing research on the days peoples’ trash is picked up across Head-Case for a white paper I am writing. Please send me your address and pick-up day for my studies.
  2. I need a bandsaw. Just need to sell the motorcycle so I have room for it.
  3. Is this with the bandsaw or some kind of mill?
  4. After 8-10 redesigns, we have settled on the final top of the dog crate which will end up having a 2” lip of ebonized oak around the outside to tie it together with the rest of the crate. The big slab of Purple Heart was “too dark” for Kasia so I dug up some maple.
  5. Yeah Frisco is on Keppra and CBD Oils but these last ones seem to be getting worse. Going to have to get him in to a true neurologist I think.
  6. Thanks Nate. Added the rest of the shiplap and now need to figure out a barn door solution and get to work on the roof. Also need to add molding on the back as the side of the shiplap is awful.
  7. Cutting it to the wire so for now this is going to be an ultra-cool open top dog crate. Frisco has had 3 seizures in the last 24 hours so it has been way too hard to get anything done these days. I think I need to stick to much smaller projects as I just cannot find the room to work on these large ones.
  8. I changed the top piece now from thick cedar slab with walnut to a 14” 4/4 Purple Heart slab with walnut. Going to tie it together with the entry cabinet which will have all walnut with a walnut slab split in half by a thin Purple Heart stick on top. No idea when I will be able to actually apply some finish to the top as the warmest day for the foreseeable future is tomorrow at 54.
  9. Starting to finally appear gray, but alas I am out of sunlight and probably temp levels for proper finishing. Need to come up with a new plan.
  10. Well, first coat turned out much different than I expected from the test boards I did. Way too barn wood for me.
  11. Also, my steel wool/vinegar stain is coming along nicely, just trying to decide if I spray on Poly after the stain, or if I have to let it cure for some time to get to final color? I am quickly running out of staining temps, maybe 2 days, so I was hoping to spray and seal all today. Any of the wood gurus have experience with vinegar sticks?
  12. While they are some serious bars, I laid them out horizontally and used metallic sparkle paint to make it appear less jail-like.
  13. Finally got all the stupid rods cut and painted so I can start putting the frame together for the dog crate. Hoping to have time tomorrow in the last of the warming weather to get it all nailed together and try to spray on some stain and poly.
  14. Thanks for the input, I have been testing a few lightly and seeing too much brown come through. Might be able to fix with more layers/time with the various General Finishes I have bought.
  15. Have any of you ever stained a darker gray tone to a light wood? Looking for a carbon/matte gray kind of color on Oak.
  16. That is sooo fucking hawt.
  17. I am still trying to figure out all the space you seem to have in your house Naaman. Do you have another shop in the backyard?
  18. Decided to widen the dog crate top with some of the aromatic cedar from the stash. Mock up before planing, gluing and dominoing the sticks together.
  19. Yeah, just trying to use up some of the 80billion sticks I bought from the Cabinet Shop auction.
  20. Trying to pick some sticks for painted cabinet doors. Anyone have a guess on what type of stick this is? Red Oak??
  21. It is a safe assumption to make, who would think a magic ping pong table even knows how to function a vice?
  22. Based upon my calculations, just the 5 largest white oak sticks are 84 BF. Then probably at least another 50 in smaller sticks. That is assuming of course that the smaller ones are actually white oak. The big rift sawn 8/4 boards are marked.
  23. The issue is, this is the first of probably 4 loads and I have no way of storing it all. I have a neighbor that wants all the white oak so trying to pick it out and come up with a price.
  24. I cannot even figure out what a lot of these sticks are.
  25. Load #1 ready for unloading. Sooo much fucking sticks. Had a commercial woodworker there loading up his expensive edge bander and he said I had at least 18 BF of Wenge, 250 of walnut and even more of the hard maple and oak.
